Since both Subby and Doom had previous stints as solo stars, SVTU is not eligible. However, Doom's strip in Astonishing Tales is. I guess I'm confused again, I thought from my reading of the initial post that later runs featuring spin-off characters were eligible, how else could both Barks and Rosa's version of Uncle Scrooge be eligible as mentioned in the post? So wouldn't any Doom run be eligible since he is the spin-off character, and if not-wouldn't his solo feature in Marvel Super-Heroes preclude the Astonishing Tales run? The more we discuss this, the more confused I get what the actual rules are. -M Well, one of us is confused and it ain't you. You're quite right and I'm quite wrong in this case. SVTU is indeed eligible under the rules as defined.

(...) I summon the brain fart!
I don't know if I'd want to summon one of those. They seem to come well, and frequently, enough on their own...

Is the co-headline status an issue? 'Coz that knocks out one of my choices. ( The P.I.'s: Michael Mauser and Ms. Tree, for the curious. This was Michael Mauser's first time headlining, but not Ms. Tree.) Again, like Confessor said, Kurt should make the final call, but I'm inclined to agree with him regarding The P.I.s (that one briefly crossed my mind as well). However, the series of Mauser back-ups in Charlton's Vengeance Squad from the mid-1970s would definitely qualify. But I've never read those.

I think I have my 12 and the order, with a couple of alternates in case, and without repeating the same character in different runs at all. Whew. Of course the list won't survive first contact with the posting on the first day, but hey, that's how it goes.

I just had an idea: my favourite series is the Kirby/Lee FF. Therefore, it must be a spin-off, because then I can put it on my list!
That's air-tight logic, right?

It’s a spin-off of Willie Lumpkin.

It looks like all out war against Kirby across a few threads.

For the fun of it, I listed my OMAC set as being available and someone bought it so it's in my 'outbox' of about 200ish books I'm parting with this season. I mean, if I 'm not impressed with Lila (or similar) artwork and I'm going to get a song and dance about it I'm just not arsed to keep it.
On another note, I've already started to type up my entries so I can post them quickly. One of them had me looking for a bit of on-line intel and I stumbled across a collected Hardcover that I never knew existed...and I snatched that beauty up....proof that CCC2023 helps sells books.

Got the images selected and uploaded to Imgur and the barebones of my write ups done for the twelve leading candidates for my entries. I did end up swapping out 2 of them, one for an alternate, and one for a series that I just remembered last night after I posted I had my 12 that I couldn't believe I had forgotten. But I'm all set for when Kurt puts the partridge in the pear tree to set us on our way.

I’m not sure what the write ups would cover. Would you comment on how good the character you picked is ?

I’m not sure what the write ups would cover. Would you comment on how good the character you picked is ? I included who the character was, where they spun off from and a little bit about the run I actually picked featuring the character, why it was my favorite featuring that character, possibly a bit on the creators, since not all of them were the 1st series to spin off featuring that character or why I like the character itself. It varied a bit based on the entry with a little more if the character or series was more obscure since others might not know about it. My break down was 6 DC-ish, 2.5 Marvel, 3.5 Indy (how Marvel and Indy split one you'll have to wait and see. -M

Part of it is explaining your choice, as in why your Day 1 pick is there, and so forth....so the good attributes will count.
Although if I simply say "I like (insert name) because he gives me the warm fuzzies", that would count too.

I don't know. I'll wait until Cei-U post first and I'll use his template to create a narrative. I'm looking at 2 Marvel, 4 DC and 6 Indie... with books to substitute when I feel like it, so some stuff might slide around or change all together.

I have twelve. I doubt that I'll change them unless I discover a really serious omission. I'll just address any non-serious omissions in my wrap-ups. Which you're getting whether you want them or not. (And why would you?)
