True to his word, George sent me his copy of Christmas with the Super-Heroes #2, and I just finished it tonight. Wow.


I don't think George could have conveyed the Deadman story more faithfully. I truly felt like I was reading this for the second time, and yet I absolutely teared up a little by the close:






And I was incredibly surprised by the strength of the rest of the stories in the volume, as well. With the possible exception of the Batman story, every one of these was a bonified classic that went for deep and profound instead of kitschy and seasonal. None were totally without flaws, but each was absolutely unforgettable:










Thank you, George. I now have another book to add to my collection of holiday classics that I can't wait to read again each season. What a gift!
