Since its tradition, let's keep it going. What is on your '24 Classic Comic Resolutions?
1. Key Issue Pick-ups- Honestly, I'm not looking to buy a ton next year. I want about 4 or 5 key issues/personal grail books and that's it; meaning if I can afford them at a reasonable price. I think I'm dwindling down with collecting back issues. I'll read what I have but the stuff I want, there's not a whole lot of books I'm searching for out there. If there's something that catches my eye, I'll pick it up but there's just that handful of books.
2. Wrap Up Binding Project- I'm almost done, as I've mentioned. I have everything wrapped up and set to go. Honestly its up to bindery to take care of it. Three volumes of Ostrander's Spectre run. Waid's Impulse run, and possibly a couple other fun book ideas.
3. Self-Preservation- Still getting some of the Silver Age and some Golden Age items CGC'd .

Ok, my goals encompass more than just comics, but it's all of one piece. Most of these are in reaction to how I did with my reading/consumption goals last year, some scaling back to be more realistic, others to push myself a little further within reason, and to my buying habits and organization projects from the past year.
In short I want to:
-Read/watch more -Buy less but be more targeted with what I get -continue getting organized including purging stuff
In more detail...
My Reading/Consumption Goals
-To read the equivalent of 1300 comic issues (i.e. 3.5 per day down from 5/day from last year, which is more in line with reality)
-To read 13,000 pages of prose (works out to 250 pp/week up from 200/week this past year. This will push me a little past what I accomplished this year)
-To watch 60 movies (up from my goal of 52 last year)
To watch/listen to 300 episodes (TV, streaming or podcasts) (up from 260 from last year which was 5/week). I nearly doubled the goal last year, so I am upping it, but I hope to scale back how much I consumed form this last year.
My Buying Goals I want to focus on certain core collections when I buy books and fill some specific holes.
-I want to trim my pull list to allow more room in budget for certain types of collected editions
-I'd like to acquire more of the following in terms of back issues: Disney Ducks Alex Toth stuff Joe Kubert stuff Frazetta stuff Matt Baker stuff Darwyn Cooke stuff Batman stuff (particularly stuff based on Animated Series) red dress covers Hanna Barbera stuff sword & sorcery/D&D comics recreating my childhood comic collection
and fill in holes in the following runs: Elvira's House of Mystery Ghost Rider (70s series) Ghost Rider (90s series) Usagi Yojimbo/Critters Angel & The Ape Jonah Hex
that said, I know my budget is limited this year, so I will need to buy smart and be choosy how I spend what budget I have. I don't think I will be attending as many cons or going to shops other than my lcs very often, so while there is lots of stuff I would like to get, I'm not sure how much I will actually get, which is why I want to remain focused and make less impulse buys outside my focus
Organization Goals I got the basic infrastructure of my organization done last year. I still need to do magazine sized stuff though.
I want to get an accurate record of what I have and what box/drawer/shelf its on. I got a good start on that at the end of the year once the infrastructure was in place, but I need to keep moving on it.
I want to purge more stuff to make more room. Hoping to get rid of about 1K of books overall of stuff I know I will never read again and don't need to own for other reasons, and trim the trade shelves of a couple dozen volumes as well.
We'll see how it goes...

Reading Goals
* Re-read some X-books (or in some cases, read for the first time). These are the comics that give me the most joy, so I want to mix them in with my new reading. Three possible reads within this are: (1) the latter part of the Silver Age X-Men run (starting around #40 or so), (2) original X-Factor (since 2023 was my big New Mutants binge), and (3) Claremont's X-Treme X-Men, which I previously only read to around #15 or #20.
* Finish reading the Superman: Man of Steel TPBs of the Byrne era that I've been reading the past couple months.
* Many Decades of the Batman: I have TPBs and HCs from various eras (many still unread), so I'd like to read Batman titles from at least four different decades.
* Read one or both of the Love & Rockets TPBs in my unread TPB pile, since the related thread is prodding me to do it.
* Read the Action Heroes Archives vol. 2, reprinting stories of the Charlton superheroes.
* Read some other non-Big Two and/or non-superhero material.
* Read some Legion of Super-Heroes that I haven't already read from various eras.
* Binge some Moon Knight.
* More Aquaman!
* Maybe try the Defenders binge read that I didn't do in 2023.
Buying Goals
* Buy less than I read.
* Given the previous goal and my backlog of unread comics, I don't have too many comics I'm looking to get. Maybe I'll buy issues of the 80s Blue Beetle I don't have or some more Reboot Legion, and probably the Spider-Man Assassin Nation Epic Collection.
Reviewing Goals
* If there is an overwhelming groundswell of support, I may attempt that New Guardians review thread.

My goals for 2024 are:
Continue to make good use of DC Universe Infinite Ultra and at least one of these two: Marvel Unlimited, Comixology Unlimited
Keep reading more Archie books, but with an emphasis on more of the digests with their mix of new and reprints.
Read more Disney Comics, particularly more Classic Duck stories and European Mickey tales.
Keep up with all the Facsimile issues but you know, actually read them.
Crack open the comic strip collections, special edition hardcovers and Twomorrows books that I've been collecting for the last year.
Keep track of every issue I read for the entire 365 days this year.

My only comic book resolutions are as follows:
1.) Read comics only while drinking grape juice and eating jelly donuts. 2.) Always carry my comics rolled up, in my back pocket. 3.) Always refer to comic books as "funny books." 4.) Lobby for the exchange rate of 3 Richie Rich to the Archie, or 17 Casper to the Batman. 5.) Demand that Bill Sienkiewicz change his name to Jones. 6.) Color in all illustrations of Moon Knight 7.) Tug on Superman's cape.

I'll keep trying to read more post-2000 stuff, and make progress on the two eras I've been concentrating on in older comics, the 1990s and late 1950s. It would be great if I made it through the '90s within the next year, because that would then free up more time for the newer things from the 2000s and beyond.
But my rate of progress on all these fronts is determined by other things than comics - mostly on the books I'm reading, since there are more of those than there are comics. In fact, I might have to slow down a little on Steve Canyon and Dan Dare because I could easily reach the end of the '50s on both within the next few months, long before I'll get through the books I have lined up for the same period.
The 1990s is a little more balanced between books and comics, or at least less drastically imbalanced, so there's a chance I might be able to get to the end of that decade in 2024 but recent experience tells me I probably won't.

My classic comics goals for 2024 are really just a continuation of my 2023 goals -- on account of the fact that I didn't actually achieve all that many of them.
Like last year, I intend to continue buying issues from runs I'm trying to complete, like Steve Englehart's Dr. Strange, Bronze Age Jonah Hex, and the late 60s Nick Fury series. I want to make more of an effort to actually buy some new comics from these runs this year and try to make some decent strides towards completing them.
But again like last year, my biggest goals for 2024 will be re-reading ones. I still want to re-read the following long-ish runs in my collection...
• Alias (including The Pulse and Jessica Jones series) • Astro City • Batman: Knightfall/Knights Quest/Nights End • Elfquest - the first 10 years (1978-1988) • Fables (issues #1-75) • Justice (New Universe) #1-32 • Miracleman (want to re-read this as Marvel is now publishing the long-awaited conclusion) • Star Wars: Dark Times
I have no plans to start any review threads in 2024.

If you really have no plans to review, I think you should review your plans. I would particularly like to read your thoughts on Englehart's Dr. Strange and the '60s Nick Fury, since they're favourites of mine and I'm selfish that way.

(...) 5.) Demand that Bill Sienkiewicz change his name to Jones. (...) Yeah, 'Jones Sienkiewicz' does have a certain ring to it.

Maybe the other way around? 'Sienkiewicz Jones' has nearly the same rhythmn as Cleopatra Jones, depending on how you pronounce Sienkiewicz.
