Easier said that done when you're selective about grades and every copy you come across falls too short.
I finally got all 19 of the Spire (Christian) Archie comics, in grades of VF-NM so with that being a wrap, I'm moving on to
- Bewitched (DELL) - 14 issues
- Herbie the Fat Fury (ACG) - 23 issues
- Swing with Scooter (DC) - 36 issues
- completing all Queen-Size Millie the Model Annuals 1961-75
- Fast Willie Jackson - 7 issues
- Harvey - (Marvel) - 6-issue Archie-esque series
- Windy and Willy - 4-issue series, + Showcase issue.
...and get some representation for Angel and the Ape - either the Showcase books or the short-lived series.
For books pushing 50-60 years old I relax my hard ass requirements and am satisfied with a nice looking FINE or better copy....but many of the above books come in raggedy 2.0-3.5. I've got all year long to take my time with these....
What are you trying to complete?

There's some I'd like to complete at some point in the future, maybe this year. Budget being limited, I'm not sure how realistic any of this is. But when I say I am prioritizing misc books I only need a handful of, these are what I mean.
-Action Comics Weekly-I discovered to my dismay when organizing things last year that I was missing issue #640 when I thought I had the whole run -Adventurers (need 3 series I #6, series II #3,5), I need Elf Warrior #4 and Warriors #1-4 of the spin offs as well (falls into my D&D related comics collection) -Amethyst (initial 12 issue Maxi) I had the rare 35 cent variants for #1 and 2 that I traded to Crimebuster in his Dollar Bin Challenge. I replaced #1 with a normal 60 center, I still need to get a #2) -Avatar (the D&D comic) I need #2 and 3 to complete all the DC D&D related comics (falls into my D&D related comics collection) -Batman/Hellboy/Starman 2 -also working on all the Batman Adventures related books, but I have a ways to go) -Before Watchmen: Minutemen by Darwyn, skipped this when it came out thinking there would always be more Darwyn stuff to get, but alas we lost him. I just need #6 -Black Zeppelin (a showcase of Day's indy work, I need #3) -Blazing Combat (I need #1, but it is priced way out of whack with #2-4 when they have essentially the same type of content and creators in all 4 issues) -a handful of Skywald comics to complete the various short run series) -same with the Atlas/Seaboard stuff -various issues of the Cimmerian from Ablaze to complete their Conan adaptations (I need 11 overall) -the last 2 Conan OGN from Marvel I need (The Rogue and Ravagers out of Time) -Conan: The Frazetta Cover series from Dark Horse (there are 8, I have 4, need 4) -Dark Horse Presents Vol. 1 (I need 37 of the 157 issue run) -Devilina (I have #1 need #2) -Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme (another one I discovered I was missing an random issue-#22-when I was organizing when I thought it was complete) -The Gladstone Donald Duck Adventures run (I need 6) -The Gladstone Ducktales series (I only need #1) -The Dragonlance adaptation OGN co-published by TSR and DC, there were 6, I need #1 & #5 (also falls into my D&D related comics collection) -Flash Gordon the King series, I need 3 (7, 10, 11) to finish the run -The 90s Ghost Rider series (need 2 #90, 92) -The 70s Ghost Rider series from #3-up (need 2 #16, 34) -the '83 Green Arrow mini, I need the last issue #4 -Hell Rider (I have #1 need #2) -Invaders (need 9 issues) -Mandrake the Magician the King series, I need 2 issues (#8, 9) -Maze Agency (need 6) -'Nam (need 6 issues) -The Question (need 1; #17 the Rorschach appearance) -The Spirit magazine (need 2) -The Spirit: The Origin Years (need 3) -Kitchen Sink's The Spirit run (need 20 of the 84 issue run) -Gladstone's Uncle Scrooge Adventures (need 19) -Unknown Soldier (once it was called that) need 14 -Witzend (need 10)
again a lot of this may just be wishful thinking, but if I can knock off a few or make progress on a few in '24, I'd be happy.

I sort of cheated on this one and got the Onmibus instead of all the individual comics....which I loose track of everytime I try to think of them.

I was thinking about the Omnibus but it’s to big and clunky to read( like most Omnibii) unless I’m sitting at the kitchen table

I keep this in my wallet in case I spot things in dollar bins. I may be close enough to try to go for a set of Weirdo, but some issues may be pricey.

2024 really could be the year where I have no floppies left on my "want" list at he end of the year. As far as completing runs go, I'm lacking one issue of Truman's King Conan, and two issues of his Conan the Cimmerean. Plus a few (non-Conan) miscellaneous one-shots. As long as this place doesn't introduce me to any more interesting runs, I'll soon be done with back issues.

Would love to somehow find reasonable priced copies (ie, less than the price of new TV) of vol 5 & 6 of the hardcover Fantagraphics Popeye books in 2024 to finish my collection

Man, that’s a lot of issues I have them individually, but wouldn’t want to pull them out of the boxes to put them in order.

I have a simple notes document on my phone with whatever issues I'm looking for. Since I generally have my phone on me wherever I go, it's really convenient if I ever come across old comics when I'm out and about.

I use google docs and just pull out my phone when I need my want list. Every once in a while, I print out a hard copy to carry around.
