Icctrombone , so glad you included the ads for upcoming books. Those four annuals made that summer for me... Years ago I completed the Thor run from 113-502. I refuse to read the books on digital after spending all that money. When I write a review, it will include all the cool ads they have. Honestly, if Taschen continues with their Marvel omnis, I might have to break down and buy the ones for Thor and Cap if and when they do come out. Those seem about as close to the legit thing as you can get without paying exorbitant amounts of money

I was just looking at Tom Brevoort's blog, where he reviews a lot of early Marvel books. Here is an observation he made. So I don't know how much Stan didn't like continued stories. Of course by #114, Kirby was clearly in charge of plotting, so it might have been more of Stan letting Kirby take the lead and not demanding no continuations.

If there's one human being I dislike out there more than Vince Russo in the spectrum of media output, it's Tom Brevoort (mainly because of his quote of "outrage generates sales". He also looks like the human incarnation of a beaver.) I will give him the benefit of the doubt when Gerber threw him under the bus during the Savage Dragon/Howard The Duck team-up debacle /end rant /end off topic

I have heard the good and bad about him batflunkie. I thought this quote was a neutral observation he made. So it wouldn't be controversial.

If you don’t like him, that’s fine. But if you’re going to complain about Tom Brevoort’s relevant Thor quote, I wish you would confine your Brevoort criticisms to something in the quote. This is a thread about Thor. It’s not a thread about anybody’s completely unrelated biases or bogeyman. Thank you.
