If this comes to a vote, I would vote against it. Boards without signature images have a much cleaner aesthetic than those that do. I;m with c&c: Images in signatures makes reading threads a bit more difficult to me. (I do like the avatars in quotes though). So my "Boom! Yummy!" isn't kosher? It's possible that my scriptblock blocks a HUGE image there, but 2 small lines don't bother me at all.

I'm on the fence against images in signatures. Most of my experience with this was on a Magic: The Gathering forum, and some of the images and banners got to be really large and obtrusive, making it difficult to read through the posts, particularly if the individual/individuals with the large images/banners were really active.
However, for this forum, I doubt it's going to be that much of a problem, so I would more apt to vote in favor of it.

If this comes to a vote, I would vote against it. Boards without signature images have a much cleaner aesthetic than those that do. Unfortunately, the host software only offers us two options in this regard. Option 1: Disable all UBB. This would include links. Option 2: Enable absolutely everything. Right now, we're set to Option 1. I'm strongly considering moving to Option 2 BEFORE people get settled on their new sigs. Thoughts? This leaves me a little torn. A lot of posters here have blogs I enjoy reading but forget about until I see the link in their sig. On the other hand, links in sigs is beloved by spammers and people linking to things I don't care to visit. And I really hate images in sigs.

And creating a rule about image sizes in signatures just begs more police work. I really don't want to go there.
I suppose, if I deactivated the BB code, folks could still put the link in their sigs as text. How hard is it to copy a link into a window browser?

This discussion started because of my suggestion, which I was suggesting for OTHER sites, not this one, if no one's clamoring for a change, I'd say just leave it be (and sorry for starting trouble!)

Not trouble at all. Inevitably, this will eventually become an issue, and it's good to have a plan before it comes to that point.

You could create a Facebook page for the forum. That way people can promote it by "liking" it. The Facebook page could also serve as a backup channel for information in case the board ever goes down.

Teddy doesn't sharpen his claws on my comics or trades. He likes to sit on them. That Enki Bilal book has a plastic cover on it.
