I frequently got Sectaurs confused with Sky Dancers and Dragon Flyz from the 90's. I mean, really, how many shows about insect warriors can you really make? Just a bunch of Bugaloo wannabes......

I was a loyal viewer of this: I remember an episode called Comic Capers which had a segment with one of the kids imaging he was Spider-man, with clips from old Spidey cartoons, and even a live-action Stan Lee cameo!

I was a loyal viewer of this: In hindsight, I have no understanding of why I loved that show (and I say that as an avid fan of the actual Muppets), but yeah, I was right there with you.

Not only one of the greatest mangas of all-time, but also one of the great sports animes.

Here's another one fans obsess over in Japan. The history of Macross and Harmony Gold could probably fill up several books as well as be used by law students

A favorite of Japanese toddlers everywhere. This isn't the original opening from the 80s as the Anpanman people don't allow much content to be shared on YouTube.

Went to a local Asian market back in the 2000's and they had Anpanman chocolates. Loved the look of the sliced bread guy and the alien dog

All of the wonderful and outstanding cartoons listed in this thread, talk about good times. Just a testament to how epic the 80s were just in the world of cartoons alone.

I haven’t read it yet, but I was pleased to see a Defenders of the Earth comic published recently. There are some 80s cartoons which are ripe for rediscovery, and perhaps comics might be the best place to explore that, especially those cartoons which ended without a proper finale.

I love Anpanman, but I can't help but think of this video now any time I hear the theme song (you have to wait for about the 1 minute mark for full effect):

Defenders of the Earth is definitely on my to read list very soon. As well as the newly released Space Ghost, and Thundercats.
