Oh OK a link, I get it. Sure I could have easily looked it up but I was just trying to stir up a conversation. Stupid me. Remind me to never bother helping you out again, then. I thought you wanted info. I apologize, pip. Last few days have been rough and I'm snarkier than usual.

I don't even know if Hope is written in any current books? Last I heard, she was in whatever book Cable is in. She could probably go into limbo, and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. She's in Uncanny X-Force. It's fantastic. Read it and love it with me.

That art was so terrible I couldn't get past the 1st issues... then there's Marrow... and did I mention I hate Fantomex with a passion? Good to know she's actually around again, though... maybe I'll try to suffer through the last few issues before it gets cancelled.

Is Fantomex the guy that lives inside his own mind or whatever?

Is Fantomex the guy that lives inside his own mind or whatever? Something like that. Like, in a globe in his hand, or some such. I don't recall, actually. Obviously.

You'd think by this time, there'd be some major non-mutant voices within the Marvel Universe speaking up on behalf of mutants, or a greater push for mutant acceptance much in the same way that you see, for example, Hollywood mobilizing on behalf of gay marriage. There don't seem to be many characters in the MU without super powers. I mean, someone here could probably name fifty off the top of their head, but they'd likely name ten times as many super heroes. I think in that universe, not having a super power is rare. And the other super heroes, the non mutant ones, likely wouldn't even comment on the issue unless they happened to be in a crossover during a "Die mutie" storyline. Spider-man seems like the most likely character outside the X-Men supporting cast to make such an appearance.

Actually I dont mind Fantomex that much, but he is one of those characters where I just ignore the parts I dont get or like. In his case the whole 3 brains, friend/foe thing. I think hes quite cool visually, which face it is a big reason we like these guys. Have always found Hope to be...odd. An excuse to have a hot redhead around, a reminder of Jean because Scott cant just have a normal human relationship (maybe his real mutant power is the inability to treat a woman well). I cant help feeling like she is going to be the vessel for the eventual revival of Jean Grey. As much as it seems to annoy some, the Bendis-X line are the more interesting and the only ones I'll continue to read for a while. Well Cyclops too cos thats a blast too much to my great surprise.

Is Fantomex the guy that lives inside his own mind or whatever? Fantomex is the writers attempting to merge Gambit and Deadpool's worst traits.

Is Fantomex the guy that lives inside his own mind or whatever? Fantomex started out as Deadpool with a French Accent.. now he's a complete mess. He's got 3 brains, which all have their own personalities, and those personalities somehow either manifest physically sometimes, or got separated for a while.. one of the main stories was a love triangle between he, his female brain (called Cluster), and Psylocke. The 3rd personality is pretty much Gambit, only evil. He's also got a magic probe/spaceship sort like Skeets (from Booster Gold) only with more attitude. Yeah, he's a mess.

Not really. Not sure I read more than 2 stories with him in it.

Sounds like a prime candidate for the "What have they done with my property" thread!!! I really liked Fantomex in his first appearance. Yes, he had Deadpool's motormouth, but where the latter is basically just saying stuff at random, Fantomex was almost constantly trying to distract and misdirect people; you got the impression that he was tremendously intelligent and emotionally mature (unlike most super-heroes who generally act like angry teenagers). I suppose that aspect is pretty much gone, now.

I think the X-men became a meh book when Romita Jr. took over the artwork.

Other than Jean Gray is still dead, Fantomex is really the only thing from Grant Morrison's run on the X-men that seems to have really caught on. I thought that character worked ok in Remender's X-force as it was pretty much all the bordering on whacked out killers of the X-men in one book.

I didn't like them at first, either. Heck, I hated Fantomex since Morrison. It builds up so well.
