Scaramouch #2, January 1991 Yes, I will do the Fandango. No idea if this was related to the Rafael Sabatini novel or not or if it was just a connection to the comedia dell'arte figure.

The Maze Agency was definitely the classy corner of the company. Oh, I don't know, they had a pretty sweet Rocket Man: King of the Rocketmen adaptation, from Christopher Moeller. One gratuitous shot of a stocking-clad leg, as the hero and his girl exit a plane. Otherwise, gorgeous stuff. Their Quantum Leap covers were usually pretty good, too. The Hero Alliance used T&A on the covers (that went back to the Wonder Color issue and Pied Piper graphic novel, with Ron Lim and Bart Sears), but less in the interiors, mostly. It actually was pretty well written and focused on the characters. They did some fine fantasy novel adaptations, like Piers Anthony and Terry Pratchett. David Campitti seemed to be the force behind the T&A cover material. If you looked beyond that, they had one of the most diverse lines in the industry, with superheroes, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, drama, comedy and some old favorites given new life. The T&A helped get it noticed on a pretty crowded newsstand. Not laudible, but understandable and effective. Should have skipped the CDRomics idea, though, as I believe that was one of the failures that hurt them, financially.
