All this talk of the return of Atlas Comics has me rather enthusiastic!
So, forget pedantry like legal realities and trademarks and all of that. Instead, imagine the following: in a world where a wish to resurrect a publisher can be granted, which publisher would YOU choose to resurrect?
I’ve listed some obvious ones (and I know some I’ve listed featured characters that are now with the likes of DC), but “Other” is there for any choices not found on the poll. I know Valiant exists today, but I’m thinking about the original incarnation. Which I voted for. Hey, someone has to try and bring back the wrestling comic Battlemania…
Please explain your choices if you wish to do so.

I voted Malibu- young me was impressed enough by their colouring to try some of their comics, and I was fairly keen on what I read. I guess their Terminator comics came out around the time Marvel bought them? I thought those were very good fun!
I'm not particularly bothered about a return of any of those defunct publishers, honestly, as it's not like the original creators or editors are likely to be involved again.

Fawcett. I wish they had stayed around. I think Capt Marvel would still be important and head up a great line. Combine them with Quality and that would be an awesome publisher! Original Valiant would be my second choice. I loved the mix of the Gold Key characters and the new ones like X-O Manowar. I miss Malibu but honestly it was only 2-3 titles that I really liked. I'm not sure someone like Gold Key or Charlton would succeed anymore. I sort of feel Dynamite is the "modern" version of those publishers. I also really miss First Comics.

Eclipse, because they had a lot of quality books and some commercial stuff. Nice mix in their line, covering all kinds of genres.

Just as an FYI on one of your options-Gold Key was revived in 2023 with Borsi Karloff's Gold Key Mysteries-it was meant to be the start of an ongoing title and possible multiple titles, but four issues were solicited but only 2 actually came up... -M

As for my vote-I voted CossGen because of the wide breadth of genres it offered. As long as Mark Alessi is not involved.

I voted other for Atlas known as “ revenge incorporated “. I liked their Marvel like stories and good creators that worked there.

Other!
First Comics, for me. They had some great creative teams and characters in The Badger, Grimjack, Nexus, Dynamo Joe, American Flagg, Whisper…
Plus Grimjack’s Pan Dimensional City of Cynosure served as a way to have these mostly self contained characters cross over on occasion which was neat.

I loved the idea of trades as samplers. Had some good creators, too. I think Pacific would be a contender for me as well, but it's not on the list so happy to pick CrossGen

Warren would be my choice, as long as its not on the level of the post Warren revival magazines.
Gold Key is another, but there's no way any one company is going to publish so diverse a line like GK in the 60s (and that's not counting licensed material).

Great choices, everyone ( wildfire2099, Pacific wasn’t on the list, but “Other” would have counted). I know Atlas returning will most likely be the exception to the rule, but I am glad we live in an era where any IP may be ripe for rediscovery; I was pleased, for instance, to see Defenders of the Earth brought back, although I’ve not yet checked the comic out.

I see that a few voted for Crossgen. I don't believe they ever made a profit. They were fueled by the owner in a nice fanboyish dream to emulate what Marvel was reputed to be back in the 60's.
