Went to get my weekly books from the LCS and saw these 2 books that I needed so I grabbed them. Got them cheaper than others would because I frequent there a lot and the more you buy the more you save. 28 out of 700 to go. I also put in an order for the Complete Shield omnibus that I will purchase with the rest of my store credit...it shall arrive in a few weeks. Some Lee, Kirby and Sterenko goodness! Can't wait! That Rhino cover! <3

Batman and Detective Comics have THE BEST COVERS EVER. Though, Spidey has some pretty great ones, too, but those tec and Batman covers, I have a weakness for them.

That's a good collection of Batman and Joker stories in that Greatest TPB. First time I saw Marshal Rogers other than his Surfer work. Something about his art on Detective is beautiful.
Edit: His Silver St Cloud ...... rawwrrr!!

Edit: His Silver St Cloud ...... rawwrrr!! Yep his work combined with Terry Austin is just gorgeous...I love it. Plus Englehart on writing duties make it my favorite Batman run...too bad it was so short. I agree his Silver St. Cloud...stunning.

I'm totaling up all my purchases for 2015. Not including books bought brand new from my LCS here are some numbers:
I bought 335 books in various shows and sales for 230 dollars. On eBay, I payed a whole lot more per comic and shipping. Those totals are 44 comics for 119 dollars. But books bought from eBay were harder to find and thus cost more. I guess I'm not counting tolls and gas to go to the comic shows. But taking a ballpark guess I would say that I spent about 600 dollars on my Comic hobby in 2015.

I've spent that in a month, at least, if you count HC and TPB collections. But, I guess, my excuse is that I'm relatively new to comics, so I'm like a kid in a candy store, and simply purchasing everything that catches my eye. My collection (counting singles AND HC/TPB collections) is nowhere near the extent of some people's, but it's growing at a rather rapid rate. And it's overwhelming sometimes (not in a bad way) to think that I've barely scratched the surface of collections available.

I have over 40 long boxes of books that I've compiled over the last 40 years. At this point, I'm just filling in gaps in what I still want to collect. Over the last 5 years, I've sold off lots of runs of comics. Just off the top of my head: Death stroke 1-60 Batman and Detective comics from the 80's has to be about 200-300 books. Freedom fighters full run. Wonder Woman 100-140 Supreme full run. X-men from 130-200 Amazing Spider-man 185-260 PP Spectacular Spider-man 1-100 Eternals (full Jack Kirby Run) Generation X 1-40 X-Factor 1-30 Bronze age Hulks( Although I still have a large Hulk collection that I'm thinking of selling). There's more but I can't think of them right now.

I bought 335 books in various shows and sales for 230 dollars. I spent $235 on one copy of Edge of Spider-Verse 2 (variant edition), which introduces Spider-Gwen. Then resold it for $320 within 24 hours as I had another copy (which I've held on to). That was most I spent on one book but it worked out fine. Thinking what I should flip in January 2016...already sold all the Star Wars...

Made of couple of purchases today that were on my list of "Collection Goals for 2016" This one finishes my complete Ghost Rider series: This one completes my run on Fantastic Four from #110 to the end of the original series: I also grabbed a Thor #482, which finishes my run from #195 to the end of the original series. It will also let me finish reading the series (I hit that point and realized I didn't have this issue, so I stopped reading until I could plug the hole).

Just got a trio of 1950s Batman books including this one. 2015: My Collection year-in-review I only added 56 books to the collection this year which is my smallest haul ever. But I did buy a house which limited my spending. Highlights: I got the last 1960s DC book I needed which completed my run of every DC comic from 1960-2010. Continued my focus on 1930s DC titles (7 new issues) including Action Comics #16 (my earliest Superman app.) and More Fun #7 and 8 (the oldest and rarest DC books that I now own). Got two Adam Strange books and one Sgt. Rock book giving me every appearance of both those characters. Completed just two runs: Falling in Love and Three Mouseketeers Still need 2417 books to complete my DC collection. Books I got this year: Action Comics #16,28,143 Adventure Comics #225 All-American Comics #13,71 All-American Men of War #70 All Funny Comics #23 All-Star Comics #22,31 All-Star Western #104 Batman #95,97,113 Buzzy #62 Comic Cavalcade #36 Falling in Love #41 (Series Complete) Fox and the Crow #7 Funny Folks #16 Gang Busters #18,30 G.I. Combat #62 Girls' Love Stories #1 Girls' Romances #8 Jimmy Wakely #6 Leading Comics #10 Leave It to Binky #19,22,31,42 Miss Beverly Hills of Hollywood #4 More Fun Comics #7,8,21,25,30,34,114,126 Mutt and Jeff #19 Mystery in Space #32, 53 (1st. Adam Strange) Nutsy Squirrel #65 Our Army at War #83 (3rd Sgt. Rock) Our Fighting Forces #30 Real Screen Comics #56 Showcase #19 (Adam Strange) Star Spangled Comics #99,100 Strange Adventures #7 Superboy #28,41 Superman #101 Three Mouseketeers #1 (Series Complete) Tomahawk #63 World's Finest Comics #60

Do you plan on collecting any of the FF before #110? Just curious, didn't know if you were a fan of the Lee/Kirby era.
