Damn I so dig that Thor cover. I wouldn't turn down vampire Sif. That was a instant buy the moment I saw it so many years ago. It's an awesome Seinkewicz cover but the inside is so so. While I haven't read it in a while, yeah, I don't remember it being all that the cover suggested it's contents to be. But it did start me reading more Thor than just the new issues at the time, and the Simonson issues, that I was buying and reading. There were some good issues in there between #300 and Beta Ray Bill.

While I am not overly confident in my memory to say I have a lot of Bill's work, that would also be my first thought if I had the chance to meet him too. Walt Simonson would be an easy choice too if I ever got the chance. Thor #380.

I also chose Thor #333 to have Bill S. sign when I met him in Boston a few years ago. He probably could have picked a better part of the book to sign, like the moon, since you can barely see it. But, whatever:

I also asked him to sign Moon Knight #29 and Midnight Sons Unlimited #2. He didn't have much time to talk, as he was in the middle of a really detailed commission piece, but I was glad I could get those few books signed.

Do creators sign books for free? or do you have to pay like I suppose you have to for a commission?

Do creators sign books for free? or do you have to pay like I suppose you have to for a commission? Usually, Unless they are key attractions.

Do creators sign books for free? or do you have to pay like I suppose you have to for a commission? Most creators I've met usually sign the first book for free and then charge after that. Sometimes they won't charge at all and will just ask for donations.

If he was still out signing and making appearances when I'd bought it I'd liked to have gotten Tom Sutton to sign Ghostly Haunts #41. Awesome cover.

Sutton's work on Marvel's Beast and Werewolf really struck a chord with me. His art was so explosive and kinetic that I think it must have burned itself permanently into my brain. It's almost a Pavlovian response when I read an issue of his; I begin to drool over the NEXT installment.

My appreciation of his art, while not exclusively, but certainly and undeniably is a bit more carnal. That man knew how to draw the dames. :-)

When I was starting to go to shows in the 70s, I was able to get a lot of sketches for free (or for $25 or less). I'll try to take pictures, but time's tight these days.
