There was also a pile of goblins, pirates, dragon creatures, frog monsters, goats, pigs, villagers, and other rpg minis, and a Rainbow Dash magnet my wife wanted top round out the haul...all of which came out of the stuff I traded in or birthday money my wife got for her birthday yesterday (all of the comics and the bulk of the minis were from the trade, but there was an overrun on the minis covered by b-day money, so pretty much the whole haul was $0 out of pocket of our money. -M

I'm more narrow minded. I pretty much just like the big two and some of the later companies like PC, First, Image, and some of the 90's companies. I really enjoy seeing the books you pick up.

I really enjoy seeing the books you pick up. I started out as a kid loving super-heroes and Saturday morning or tv favorites in comics, but it soon developed into a love of comics as a storytelling medium and art form. My tastes in comics reflect my tastes in things in general. Big 2 superheroes are certainly a part of that, but nowhere near the whole of it. And since I put together and then sold off a huge collection (somewhere b/w 12-15K comics) of super-heroes with long complete runs of a lot of Marvel books and handful of DC ones between 1986 and 2001, I really have no interest in repeating myself and doing that again, so I get stuff I didn't collect before but want to read, handful of favorites I want to re-experience, or stuff I had as a kid but never got around to getting again. -M

I wonder how much I would enjoy it today? Back then, it seemed like something special.

one issue i never got a few years back when i was collecting comics is Hulk #271. So now i look for it and its sold for stupid prices because its the 1st appearance of Rocket Raccoon. Actually its not, as he was in Marvel Preview #7 first. But still. I could have got this 7 years ago for like £1. Looks like that one will not be filling my collection anytime soon

I thought there were only 2 volumes of Martian Manhunter? I have Vol 1 and 2 and it covers all the Detective and House of Mystery appearances I am pretty sure. What would be in Volume 3?

Showcase #1 covers these stories: Detective Comics #225-304 Showcase #2 covers these stories: Detective Comics #305-326 & House of Mystery #143-173 I really want Showcase #2.

Just picked up FF # 51-125 on Comixology for $.99 Hondobrode , you're on awesome dude, but buying something digital isn't really "owning" anything. I have Marvel Unlimited and have the same access to these issues as you do. This whole digital thing is weird.

I have Marvel Unlimited and have the same access to these issues as you do. This whole digital thing is weird. Well, with DC and Marvel, you're just being allowed unlimited access, so technically you're right, however, all the other publishers allow you to download backups if you like, so at least you have that. Still. it's only a matter of time before DC and Marvel go that same route. For $ 1 each and being able to access them beautifully and effortlessly on my iPad, it's worth it IMO.
