I own a house and I pick up the keys everyday to lock it. And I am sure hondo can pick up his IPad and lock it every day, but he's not picking up the actual comics he has access to it. The keys are no more your house than the menu you look at is the food. And I'd like to see you pick up the land the house sits on too. If ownership is only something you can pick up, property is the biggest con job in all of human history -M

Maybe, but I can sell my house and get cash for it. No one can sell a comic they paid for on comixology.

At any time they choose, Comixology could block your account for real or imagined violations of their terms and conditions, and you're out that cash. I haven't read it (since I don't do digital), but I suspect (like all internet things), you are required to agree to their terms and conditions, one of which is always 'we can change the terms and conditions at any time'. Sure, if they do something stupid they'll lose business, but businesses do stupid things all the time. 'Buying' stuff on Comixology is much more analogous to renting an apartment/house, its 'your' home... until the landlord says it isn't any more.

Sure with digital it's yours until it's not. But at any time fire, flood, theft, divorce, etc. can remove a physical object from your possession too so it's yours until it's not because something out of your control happens. I am not saying one is the same as another, but you are paying for access that is yours until something happens to change it in both cases, and that it is a matter of consumer preference not that one is inherently a better way to gain access to comics than the other.

I went into a comic shop in downtown Staten Island and they had around 30 long boxes marked 4 dollars and up. They had some very nice books in those boxes but I try to buy comics on the cheap. They also had a 1 dollar box and I picked these two up. I only noticed that the Werewolf book had a chunk missing on the bottom of the cover when I got home. Oh well, it was just a buck.

Back to the topic.. I was in Meredith,NH for work today, and found a very small comic book store near the conference. It was one of those Comic shops that's really a magic card store, but they did have an actual quarter bin! It's been AGES since I've seen one. Anyway, I picked up quite a nice haul (all for .25 each).. a few that were actually related to recent discussions here Human Fly (not quite the Fly, buy close) 7, 11-13, 17-19 Prime 1,4,8,13-15,17-20, 24-25 Guardians 1 (I have NO IDEA what this is... it's a marvel comic for 2004 and has nothing to do with any Marvel Property I've seen before) Cage (the 90s one) 2-3 Scarlet Thunder 1 (b&w indy comic that looked interesting) Freak Force 1 GL: Mosiac 1 Jemm, Son of Saturn 1,5,7,10-11 Return of the Prowler 1-3 (Eclipse)

While at the Columbus Toy Show this afternoon I picked up a handful of comics as well... the true find of the day... Superman from the 30s to the 70s complete with dust jacket for only $20... the rest of the comic haul... Joe Kubert's oversized treasury adaptation of Bible stories, Savage Sword of Conan #37, the April 1979 issue of Heavy Metal (#25) and a pile of 4/$1 books including a handful of Atari Force issues, most of the run of Primal Force from DC, Crimson Avengers #4 (completes the mini series for me) and Smash Comics #1 form the JSA revival with the gorgeous Dave Johnson cover. -M

Picked up this one today. It's not quite in the condition I prefer, but it completes my run of all 104 issues of Showcase. Not an easy run to complete.
