I do too, that's why I post any good deals I find, even if it's not characters or titles I personally like, in the Bargain Hunter's thread. Hopefully someone who does like it can take advantage of the sale. Thats great. There was/is a sale with the first volume of heroes for hire to for the same Price also on comixology.

Went over to Columbus this morning and hit a few places of interest-we had 4 on the agenda, but one was not accessible because of street closures for some kind of Columbus Day celebration in the short North (alas no Big Fun vintage toys today, but next trip we'll hit them up again. Managed to pick up a few items of interest at each of the 3 stops we did go to(plus tried a new Greek place and had fabulous Gyros for lunch). I'll post pics later when I've had a chance to take them and upload them to photobucket.
First stop was Half Price Books near the OSU campus, traded in some stuff and picked up a still shrink-wrapped copy of Frank Frazetta Icon, plus found volumes 4-6 of the Thieves World graphic novels with early Tim Sale art (I reviewed volume 1-3 in the From the Sorcerer's Scroll thread and have been looking for volumes 4-6 going on 10 years now, and all 3 were in the clearance GN section so only $3 a pop today. Also picked up Tarzan: Le Monstre a Dark Horse trade collection of issues 11-16 of the Dark Horse Tarzan series, and it featured a gorgeous cover by Kaluta.
Next stop was a used book store called Acorn books. It was sensory overload of interesting books but I narrowed down my choices to a handful of items...
vol. 5 of the Phantom prose novels (i.e. The Golden Circle) The Collected Jack Kirby Collector Vol. 2 The Will Eisner Quarterly #5 and #7 (published by Kitchen Sink) and Vol. 1 of Abraham Stone by Joe Kubert
they had a ton of Doc Savage prose novels, a bunch of early sci-fi and comic fanzines and collections of Tarzan and Phantom strips plus EC collections I was considering as well, but was trying hard not to overspend. Definitely need to go back at some point with a larger war chest to get stuff.
The last stop (though we were planning on Big Fun afterwards because it was only a few blocks away, blocks that were closed off unfortunately) was a new discovery, a place called Evil Twin, a curiosities and collectibles shop that features vintage comics and toys and other items of interest. Again, way too much cool stuff, but my wife had pointed out their facebook page to me a month or so back and this was our first visit, and when we used facebook to check in (to get a 15% discount on our purchase) I noticed they posted that they had gotten a bunch of comic mags in like Marvel B&W books, Epic Illustrated, Heavy Metal etc. so I focused on that [though a in box World of the Interchangables (i.e. a Micronauts knock-off line that was released after Mego folded and sold the molds to another company) Lord Metal (i.e. Baron Karza with a different head and paint job) was mighty tempting, but I resisted]. I picked up Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction #1 and three issues of Epic Illustrated (#29, 33 and 34). The Heavy Metals were of more recent vintage than I am currently focused on (they were from late 90s and early 2000s, I am focused on '77-'85 right now) so I passed, but the owner has a line on a large collection of Heavy Metal issues and Conan stuff from a prospective seller she is waiting to hear back from, and she took my contact info and will let me know if she acquires the collection. If I had more cash on me I might have gotten the Vintage Star Trek Megos and Enterprise bridge playset they had or some of the giant Shogun Warriors they had as well, but I behaved (mostly because I knew Big Fun had a bunch of Micronauts stuff and I wanted to have money for that stop, but alas it didn't happen, so that money goes into my Champion City Con warchest for the end of the month instead. Will definitely make another trip there before the year is out to explore further though.

I picked up some mid-'80s comics this week, with two issues of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones and all nine issues of Secret Wars II. Of the latter, I'm a fan of the original Secret Wars, regarding it as nothing more than big, dumb superhero fun with very few pretensions of being anything else, but I've never read the follow-up. I was able to pick up all nine parts of the sequel in pretty nice condition for less than the cost of the TPB collection currently on Amazon, so that was good. I'm looking forward to reading this and seeing if it's as bad as everyone says it is!

Per @mrjupiter suggestion my LCS has a copy of this DC Digest that contains the story that I always wanted to read! It's All Star Comics #36! Got using my Store Credit Money and it will be mailed to me in 7-10 days from now.

Is that Silver Surfer/Warlock just one issue your missing? Or are you just now buying them to read? I was curious to see what you thought of it since we are both Starlin and Warlock fans.

I'm rebuying the four issue set. It was stolen out of my attic along with Warlock 9-15 and some silver age Avengers issues. I thought It was decent but I never liked the Mephisto character.
