Months ago, I got all the issues of Devil Dinosaur that I missed in the 1970s, and I was thinking of doing the same with Machine Man. I got #1 to #3 when they were new and I read them last year and I was thinking of getting the rest of the Kirby issues soon. And that Joker series - It's great! I think #7 is my favorite appearance of Lex Luthor ever!

Kirby's Machine Man is wild. Like you, I got the first few issues off the rack. However, I've never read his origin in 2001. Is it worth tracking down?

Sadly I don't have that one but did get #2, whichever one where he is throwing cards (the number escapes me) and the one with Scarecrow (#7 I think??)

Yesterday I celebrated the first day of my Vacation by taking a day trip to nearby New Jersey to visit various comic stores. In total I bought 73 comics for about a buck each. These are the highlights.

I love #567, it was one of the issues that made up the start of my collection. I had read it and reread it so many times, the cover came loose. A few (well over 10 now) years ago, I got myself a new copy when I filled out the run surrounding it.

How easy is it to round up those back issues? Are they pricey ?

I acquired 34 Action comics yesterday, these are the highlights I've never been a HUGE Superman fan, but there have been a few times through the years when I collected Superman or Action for 10 or 20 or 30 issues. And my favorite storyline from those periods was the era when Superman was split in two by sorcery (I think) and the two Supermans split his various powers and were separated in different time-periods. (It's been a while, so pardon me if I get a few details wrong.) I would love to read those again!

I ordered a low-grade (but not too low-grade) copy of this: I've read the S.H.I.E.L.D. story before, in the Steranko TPB. But not the Doctor Strange story! I've had #163, #164 and #166 for a while and I'm looking forward to the missing piece. The weird random dudes that Doctor Strange ran into in the Silver Age are so awesome! Nebulos, the Living Tribunal, Zom, Kaluu, Voltorg!

I didn't buy it yet, but I bid on this: I have long been intrigued by that cover. What is even going on? I'll know Saturday. I got it! I didn't get anything else I bid on though. I hate just missing out by 25 cents or 50 cents, so I always bid about $2 over the price I want. So I bid $12 since I didn't want to go over $10. And I got it for $12. Its pretty beat up, so I probably paid too much for it. But at least I'll know what's going on!

I don't really buy back issues anymore, but look at that awesome cover! How could I resist?
