^Hey thanks!
Big stack for me today! Visited a local collector/friend and he had some stuff for me. I picked up a full run of the Invaders!!! Minus the annual though but still, I thought that was solid! On top of that, all 5 Giant Size Conans, the Giant Size Invaders, two issues of Foolkiller that I was missing and Nightwatch #1 because hey....you never know. Excited to dive into the Invaders though!

You'll enjoy the Invaders ... one of my favorites!; and I have a friend of mine and he and I put together the full run of Invaders and we keep it at his house and once a while we look through it and enjoy this team very much. We both co-owned it and took us 10 plus years to put this together.

Unexpected find of the day... (maybe of the year) I may have mentioned my wife's aunt runs an estate sale business as a side business. They are having a sale next weekend on a particularly overstuffed house and were trying to clear out some big pieces of furniture to make room. We were looking for a futon or sleeper couch to make up for losing the guest room to become my wife's wardrobe/dressing room, and they had one so we were there to check it out. My aunt said I was welcome to look around if there was anything else I was interested in. I went over to the books which were all priced at $2 for hardcovers $1 for paperbacks. Among the paperbacks I found a copy of Asimov's Foundation, which I didn't have, but then among the hardcovers I found this... It was a library copy, probably sold by our library years ago as the library stamp predates the transition of the local Warder library to a county library sometime in the 1980s, but you can see the dewey classification on the spine... Dust jacket is in nice shape, protected by that library plastic over it they always do, a few dings on the corner here or there, but otherwise in great shape, especially for $2. I had just seen one without the dustjacket at Half Price last weekend and they were asking $50 for it, and I paid $20 for the Superman sister volume a little over a year ago at the Columbus Toy Show, so I am quite pleased with this. Now if I can ever find an affordable copy of the Batman volume, I'll be all set. -M

Halloween is a while away but I am excited to have these ready to read when it rolls around... Also, a Luke Cage annual for good measure... And finally, some Warlock stuff because....Gil Kane! $25 well spent I believe!

Unexpected find of the day... (maybe of the year)... -M Looks like Kurt Schaffenberger art (that CM Jr. especially). Was it done for this book in particular?

Looks like Kurt Schaffenberger art (that CM Jr. especially). Was it done for this book in particular? GCD confirms Schaffenberger, and does not list it as being reprinted from somewhere else, so unless there is info they don't have or are providing, I would say yes, it is original to this volume. -M

It's a great homage to CC Beck's painted cover from Captain Marvel Adventures #18:

Any chance on seeing some of the interior pages of that Shazam book mrp? I'm assuming it is like the Batman and Superman books where it is mostly B&W but with several color pages?

Any chance on seeing some of the interior pages of that Shazam book mrp? I'll see what I can do about getting some photos or scans tomorrow. Depends how the day goes, and how much of the house project/chores and of the great comics culling of 2017 I get done early on. If not I will try to get some at some point this week. -M

Unexpected find of the day... (maybe of the year) I may have mentioned my wife's aunt runs an estate sale business as a side business. I recently read a graphic novel that involves estate sales: "Lives intersect in the most unexpected ways when teenagers Anne and Lewis cross paths at an estate sale in sleepy Failin, Oregon." I wonder if your wife's aunt would find it realistic. I enjoyed it. www.darkhorse.com/Books/21-331/Bad-Houses-TPB
