I'll probably get rid of the Punisher mini series since I own it but I am super pumped for the Marvel Preview ish!

To be fair, ICC sent me two of the Cerebus phone books a month or so ago, so when I decided I was culling a bunch of stuff I gave him forst [sic] crack at what Thor and Bronze Age Supes stuff I was getting rid of because I knew he would get more enjoyment out of it than any of my dealer friends. Well sure, when you offer shiny stuff to Icctrombone , the magpie of the CCF, his reaction is naturally gonna be priceless. Meanwhile, I can't find a single taker for my Marvel Premiere 15 with the "Value" stamp cut out. Ha. I rather send books to the members of CCF than sell them on eBay. I soured on eBay because I ended up giving some nice sets away for 99 cents more times than I'd rather admit. Over the 3 years that I've been here, I've sent books to more than a few people. I just ask that they are loved in their new home.

It's the only punisher arc I like and want aside from his appearances with Spidey in the 70s. I have several of those like ASM 135 I believe and 170 something. Beyond the 70s though I don't have much interest in the character. Plus majority of the reason I love the mini is the cover artwork by Zeck.

I was in the Los Angeles area for a few days and my friend lives just a few blocks away from a comic book store (in Northridge) so we stopped by and - much to my surprise - I picked up the following issues of Detective Comics for $5 each: They are a little beat-up, with slightly wrinkled corners and worn on the edges, but the covers are still very bright! The cover is detached from #362 but they are all otherwise intact with no coupons missing, no pages cut out, no water damages, no weird smells. I am now only missing three issues of Detective from #350 to the present.

Yesterday I picked up the DC Holiday Special from Christmas 1979. It features Batman, Jonah Hex, Sgt Rock, The Legion of Super Heroes, and the House of Mystery. It is a very clean and crisp copy and got it for only $1. My Dad brought my original copy home for me after working very late one night. I read it until it full apart, haha! I saw a copy at the comic shop yesterday and had to have it!

I bought issue 22 of the old John Byrne Superman series. The issue where Superman uses kryptonite on three bad guys

If that's the special that had the first Frank Miller Batman story, then I had it and gave it away years ago.

Bought volumes 4 and 5 of the Vertigo Books of Magic at the weekend at a con, and an Atlas Seaboard ( Iron Jaw #2)... which it turned out I already had. I need to upgrade my memory or actually write stuff down somewhere). And this: A page of original art from 2000AD bought from the artist Colin MacNeil. Not sure what to do with it. At the moment it is sat on my drawing table inspiring me not to be so damn timid when I draw.

I bought these at auction a few weeks ago. But they finally arrived today. New Fun #6 (October, 1935) Features: 1st published work by Siegel and Shuster 1st appearance of Doctor Occult, the oldest character in the DCU, and therefore: 1st appearance of the DC Universe 1st vampire story in comic books
New Fun #2 (March 1935) 2nd DC comic ever published

SPIDEY TEAM UPS!!!! WOOOOOO Love that era of MTU. #13 was my first issue. Introduced me to the Grey Gargoyle, and may have been my first Captain America comic (I was familiar with him from the cartoon). Those Gil Kane covers, especially when inked by Romita were irresistible to me.

^ Yes I am pumped for those. Some of them I have but the top row I am missing and I will see if any are upgrades I have been buying lots lately and getting good deals on eBay. Lots of miscellaneous lots that are not advertised well and have some hidden goodies, some of which I have sold, others I have kept. This is my latest find. The House of Mystery #205 is, in my opinion, the most amazing cover from that series. I love the black, I love the purple inside the casket. Heck, the story inside can be the worst thing ever written and I will still love it. Can't wait to put it up on my Halloween themed wall of the month (which I will also post somewhere in the coming weeks!)
