I just picked up another pre-Bat Tec. #22 - 1st Crimson Avenger cover I would immediately be cracking the CGC seal to read the stories. Pre-Batman issues of Detective Comics are TOTALLY NUTS! (My nickname for the first issue is Anti-Asian Comics #1.)

My buying has been pretty slow this year, due to a few factors including dwindling size of my Want List, lack of opportunity to get out and buy anything (I've already sat through 6 swim meets on Saturdays this year so far, with one more tomorrow), and even a little lack of interest. However, I have picked up the following within the past few weeks:
Invincible Iron Man Masterworks #3 (collects ToS issues #66 - 83) The Might Thor Masterworks #5 (collects issues #131 - 140) The Flash #144 (only need four more issues to complete the post-Crisis series)

I have a CGC copy of Detective Comics #359. I haven't cracked the seal because I have reprints of those two stories.
However, I am VERY curious about the letters page and I sometimes think about cracking it open to read that.

The letters page of Detective #359 includes a letter from a young Mark Evanier.
Cei-U! I compound the temptation!

That's not particularly tempting because Mark Evanier had A LOT of letters in DC comics back then. I'm wondering if there's a letter from Irene Vartanoff. She has a letter in the letter page a few issues later where she's praising #359.

It was a rainy day and I went over to the next town to my lcs to pick up my pull, but I stopped in the used book store in that town to find they were having a 25% off sale on all regular price back issues and had loaded up their quarter bins and markdown trade paperback shelves to clear out some stock. I ended up picking up a few things on sale and a bunch of quarter books. The big find... a copy of Young Blueberry by Charlier and Moebius. It was $15 minus the 25% off. also for 25% off Hawkman (2002 series) 26, 30, 34, 39 (all under $3 each before discount) from the quarter bins I picked up the following: The Dreaming 2-11, 13-21, 26, 28 Sandman Mystery Theatre: Sleep of Reason 1, 4 Kyle Baker's I Die at Midnight Nightstalkers 2-4, 9 Adventures into the Unknown (from A+ Comics) 2-4 Moonshadow (Epic) 8, 9, 12 Rom 4, 13, 18 Cheval Noir 29, 30 Harlan Ellison's Dream Corridor Special Empire Lanes 1 Dark Horse Presents 11, 30, 31, 38, 39, 49 Ms. Tree Quarterly 1, 3-7 -M

On the discount trades I also picked up Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers of Victory Vol. 3 & 4 (I had gotten Vol. 1 & 2 in the Ollie's buyout on the cheap, these were less than 1/2 cover too), and Hellblazaer Vol. 15 Highwater.

Had a chance to go out yesterday and hit the anniversary sale at one of the big LCS here in Pittsburgh. Picked up the following: These were the two big buys for the day. The Daredevil issue leaves me two short of completing the entire series, and I've been wanting to pick up this Marvel Premiere for a while now, even though it does have Frank Robbins on art. Handful of What If? issues Some Marvel Team-Ups Three of the last four Flash issues I need to complete the post-Crisis series: Random issue of Frankenstein Also picked up the last 6 issues of Flash (nu52) that I needed to complete that series, and I got a copy of the first I Hate Fairyland TPB (I love Skottie Young) for $3.
