Now I just need 3 issues to have from 200-502 of Thor. Is #503 where the title goes back to Journey Into Mystery? I ask as I've just gotten #517-519 (Black Widow three parter) and wondered when they did the title change. I just ordered Thor #241 & 242. I was so happy with the Avengers #121 from the seller (and that it had the value stamp) I thought I'd give them another try... they even got me a fab super-white Amaz. Spider-Man #191... it's so cool when something comes and is better than you had any reason to expect... it even makes that wobbley sound when you hold it in your palm and then drum your fingers on the back! I can't see how it isn't mint, yet they graded FN-VF. These make up for how I was a bit let down on a Captain America #171 being a little less than hoped for (although it too did have the value stamp at least), one staple is sort of giving off grey dust and it has made smudges/stains on the center paper... I wonder if it's a pre-rust stage.

Got this baby from eBay ( yeah, I'm treating myself to the these books ). I now need 2 issues to make it a straight run from 193-502, both in the 200's. What intrigued me is that the seller sent it in this plastic case. It reminds me of the plastic sleeves that Baseball cards used to come in.

I stopped by Half-Price Books this evening to take advantage of the 40% discount on any one item today. I toyed with the idea of buying the first Showcase Presents collection of Jonah Hex, which is out of print, as it would have cost me just a little more than $13 including tax. This was in my hand until I saw The Complete Maus, and as I wasn't 100% sold on the Hex book, I got this one for just $11 and change.
There will be another 40% off tomorrow and 50% off on Sunday, so I may yet own the Jonah Hex collection, but I couldn't pass up a Pulitzer Prize-winning work for less than $12.

About 5 years ago , I picked up both of the tpb Maus books for 5 each. I only got to read about half of the first one and it was brilliant , and tough to read.

Just bought this book for $20 +$6 shipping on eBay. I've always wanted it for the awesome Brian Bolland cover.

I've never seen anything like that for comics.

^ I got one of those with an ebay order too, maybe with some '70s Thors... I don't know if it's Mylar or what. I just put a random comic in it for display.

If it's hard mylar, that's a pretty nice bonus with your purchase!

I've seen comics in those sleeves before, but I don't think they are mylar or designed for comics, I think they are primarily used for 8 x 11 photographs in sports or celebrity memorabilia and some folks have just re-purposed them for comics.

Went back to Half Price Books for the final day of the coupon sale. Used my 50% coupon on this... which has been quite pricey every time I have seen it. It was marked a little more than I would have liked to pay, and that was less than I had seen it for elsewhere, but with the coupon it ended up being less than msrp so I pulled the trigger on it. I had volume 2 for a while, but vol. 1 was out of print and fetching premium prices, and I had given up on ever getting one, but when The Captain mentioned seeing one at his HPB earlier this week, I decided to check mine to see if it might and it did. I picked up 2 other volumes without coupon, each was about $10, so not a bad price... another Showcase volume, this time Weird War Tales... and a Creepy volume, this one showcasing the work of Alex Toth... -M

Went to a Local Comic show in New Jersey and scored the two Thor books that I was missing. I was especially happy because it was less than eBay had it for. Number 207 was asking for high prices because of a Halloween crossover with some DC characters, I think. They both came out to half the price that are on the covers, 8 bucks in total.
