Got these three comic/nerd-related books for Xmas this year... From left to right, that's the The Affair of the Necklace from the Franco-Belgian Blake & Mortimer series; Dungeons & Dragons: Art & Arcana, a coffee table book featuring artwork from the RPG manuals that I've wanted for ages; and DC Comics- Year by Year: A Visual Chronical, which, as a "Marvel guy", I'm sure is going to be really interesting (my knowledge of DC comics is pretty scant, so I'm hoping I'll learn a lot from this).

I've had that D&D book in my hands at Barnes & Noble more times than I can count, but every time I talk myself out of it with the "But do I really NEED this" question. I have an insane amount of gift cards for Amazon right now, so I may go ahead and pull the trigger on it, since it won't technically cost me anything.

I got some Christmas money to squander - this was the first to arrive. I have decided that anything in Dargaud's Histoires Fantastiques series is worth a look:

Seconded. My wife bought it for me, and I've spent way too much time leafing through it. Nostalgia, since I was buying D&D early on, plus great art, plus behind-the-scenes stuff. Yeah, it's worth it.

Been on a bit of a roll lately, here's some I picked up today. As before, Scans are done with comics still in the bag, price sticker is on bag, not book. Any waves in the images are the bag. Picked up a few classic Charlton titles-- And this Mag-sized book from Atlas-Seaboard-- Only need a small handful of Atlas books to have them complete. And last, probably my best find in the last couple of weeks-- Green Lama #3. Not in perfect shape, but no pages or panels missing, cover is still attached, but with the nicks and minor pieces missing on the cover it still comes in as a solid 2.5-3.0 book. I'm pretty happy with this one overall, considering that most known copies have been snatched up and slabbed.

Wow. I don't have many ten cent issues in my collection. I could probably count them on one hand.

I've got 20 to go. I only pick them up when they're stupid cheap. I'm not interested in condition. I did once own that Thrilling Adventures back when I was kid but have no idea where it went. Devilina #1 is on my shelves but I've never seen a Vicky. Maybe they weren't imported into the UK for some bizarre copyright reason. Weren't they reprints of some earlier book?

Vicky was a reprint of Tower Comics' "Tippy Teen", but with obviously revised dialogue. I have issues #1 and #3 of Vicky, but the most elusive by far is Vicky #4. Probably one of the lowest print run bronze age books out there.
I need 7 books to complete my Atlas run, including the mags--
Devilina #1 Devilina #2 Police Action #2 Police Action #3 Vicky #2 Vicky #4 Weird Tales of the Macabre #2
I could order all of them except the two Vicky books a the drop of a hat, but I prefer the hunt... more fun that way.
Also, although not part of the Atlas Comics line, I'm also looking for the Atlas Seaboard non-comic Mags:
Movie Monsters #2 Movie Monsters #3 and the ever elusive Gothic Romances #1-- just as scarce as Vicky #4.
I've always loved the Atlas Seaboard books for their extreme quirkiness... plot lines and characters that shift in mid-stream with no warning, and also the fact that the company was an early pioneer in artist/creator ownership rights.

I picked this up on eBay for a good price. I received this issue on Christmas from my wife but the cover was almost completely detached ( buyer beware, I guess), So I kept my eye open and saw this one. A very solid G+.
