Nice! You bought this just because I said I had gotten an affordable copy of this, didn't you? Yours is in a little bit better shape than mine, though.

We have a different concept on what we call affordability Icc. I'm strongly in the $5-10 camp of purchasers. If paying higher prices, for me it is for getting brand new reprints in TPB's or Omnibus formats. Don't mind dropping $100 for an Omni collecting 25+ issues but $30 or more in many cases for a singular old comic does not compute. That is just my own personal quirk I readily admit.
You're not alone. I get the shakes if I think about spending more than a fiver on an individual comic.
Yeah, long gone are the days when I'd spend $30, maybe even $50 for a back issue (usually an X-Men) not to mention what I paid for Giant Size X-Men #1, and if I buy something now, $10 is pretty much my limit.

I have one more Thor book coming, and I'll probably call it a day. The remaining books look to be 30 dollars and more, too rich for my blood. For #112 ( Fight with the Hulk) they want minimum 200.

How many issues do you still need? Originally I wanted to acquire the Thor run from 126-502. I finished that over a month ago. Now I'm seeing how far in the Journey into mystery issues ( 83-125) I can go without going broke. I need 27 in total. I doubt I'll get #83 , that's thousands of dollars , and some of the others that I am missing are in the hundreds for each book. Pity you missed on this sale.

I'm with you on this. Last time I spent at least $30 was back in early 2018 (Marvel Premiere #28, with The Legion of Monsters). Since then, most I've spent is: $13 on Daredevil #65, to complete my run from #64+ $10 on Fantastic Four #109 $9 on Mike Grell's Green Arrow #1 After that, it's six $5 books: Captain America #196 - replacement copy Iron Man #118 (first Jim Rhodes) - replacement copy - big sale at LCS Iron Man #127 - replacement copy Incredible Hulk #227 - replacement copy Sub-Mariner #31 and #48 Then it's nothing more than $3.25, but mostly $2 or under. I spend most of my money on collected editions now of Silver/Early Bronze Age books.

Well, a new seller listed that hard to find Legion Companion book Twomorrows published quite awhile ago now, and the price and shipping was the most reasonable I've seen (just slightly over twice the original cover price) so I bit. I'm sure it will provide a lot of reading enjoyment like the Outpost book, I may have to close up having anything else on my wanted list now though. The Dave Cockrum cover alone might be worth the price of yatta-yatta...

I had a really rough week last week! So I thought maybe I deserved a Rough Week Quarantine Reward, and I started looking at late 1950s Detective Comics on eBay. I have every issue after #275, and I was looking at the issues between #267 (first Bat-Mite, and way too rich for my blood!) and up to #274. That #274 looks really dumb. I mean, they ALL look dumb! But #274 looked boring. But #273 looks interesting! I put a low bid on a decent copy ($30) and 24 hours before the end of the auction it was up to $51! It wasn't THAT decent! But someone had just posted a copy listed at 7.0 and they wanted $50 for it. So without thinking about it, I bought it! That is more than I wanted to spend right now but if it's really a solid 7.0 then its a really good deal!

My on/off "buy anything dirt cheap bearing the Vertigo imprint" (and preceding DC lines that were moved over to it like The Sandman, Swamp Thing etc.) took another step nearer completion ()at this rate sometime in the early 23rd century looks achievable) with a couple of early Doom Patrols #2 and #12 (Gods they are awful!) and Shadows Fall #2, The Dreaming #7, American Freak #3 a quid each and in readable condition.

I’ve made more than a few impulse buys for cheap books. Power on , man.
