I'm actually a Colts fan first and foremost, but as a Massachusetts man, I do also cheer for the Pats when they aren't playing the Colts. I do so wish the Spurs hadn't gotten rid of Pochettino, I liked him a hell of a lot more than Mourinho.

Some of the stories came from Atlas's Mystery Tales #43 but not all of that comic were included and there's other stories from other places.

So I wasn't expecting this to arrive until sometime tomorrow, but it arrived this afternoon from Lonestar. A lovely package with another four Dave Stevens covers, some 80s indies, some Gemstone EC reprints and a single DC book.... Sheena 3-D #1 looks much nice than its graded... did Dave Stevens ever do a Godzilla cover? So it has to be Kong! another pair of Stevens covers... since I completed DNAgents and will be finally giving it a read through soon, I wanted to be able to read its companion series Crossfire as well, so I filled in the final eight issues of the series I needed... I also picked up two of the three issues I needed to complete the first Scout series. I still need #1 and a couple issues of War Shaman for the whole Scout kit and kaboodle. I also snagged the last issue of Vanguard Illustrated I needed, with a gorgeous Al Williamson cover, and 1 more issue of the Son of Tomahawk run I needed... and grabbed a bunch of the Gemstone reprints I didn't have from their dollar sale, these are from Panic and Extra... Not pictured because it's modern, I also picked up the second five issue Fox mini form Archie/Red Circle by Dean Haspiel and Mark Waid. I adored the first mini, but didn't know they did a second in 2015 (I was out of the loop on new releases that year as I was between comic shops), so I snagged all five issues. No Cooke ot Toth variants this time around, but some really snazzy covers nonetheless. -M

Nice books , mrp. But with all the Dave Stevens covers that you bought , it occurs to me that you are part of the reason that the prices are jacking upwards.

I have fallen down the rabbit hole. I noticed this last night on ebay ending this morning, with a winning bid under a buck, I ended up winning it for $1.25 plus shipping... Wally Wood's Witzend #8 featuring 6 pages of Frazetta art... Witzend has been a series on my radar, but I never took the plunge. Now I have... -M

Nice books , mrp. But with all the Dave Stevens covers that you bought , it occurs to me that you are part of the reason that the prices are jacking upwards. When I started tracking down 80s indy series circa 2012, most everything, including Stevens covers could be had for a buck or two, or less in some cases. I snagged what I could find at shows and shops but never filled holes at places like Lonestar because they were more expensive there. Over the last 8 years, average price per issue on a lot of this stuff has gone up to closer to $3 a pop and I don't find them much in dollar bins anymore, and the Stevens issues have gone up much more on average, so I decided to grab the ones I wanted now before these 30+ year old books increase even more. Demand seems to have remained steady, but it's getting harder to find this stuff, so I think the lower print runs of indy 80s are starting to come into play a bit. I am sure I am part of the demand curve, but the curve's trend was already upward before I jumped on. I saw the same thing happen with Bronze Age books in the early 2000s. I could get almost anything I wanted on the cheap through the late 80s, 90s and into the early 2000s, then almost overnight, prices on Bronze Age stuff started rising, they disappeared form bargain bins and started commanding significant prices. I missed out on a lot of books I hadn;t got to before it happened then, so I decided to act now this time around to try to not miss out on stuff before it goes out of my price range. -M

Nice find with the Witzend. I've looked for them sporadically but have never seen anything at a decent price.

Nice find with the Witzend. I've looked for them sporadically but have never seen anything at a decent price. Yeah none of the other listings wee even close to this price, so I am sure it was pure happenstance I found one, but some of the completed listings were more reasonable than the active listings, so it looks to be a matter of timing. -M

Pacific, Eclipse, Comico, First, early Dark Horse, etc. I've got a real affinity for this stuff.

Visited a NEW comic book store last weeek (The Laughing Shield In North Attleboro, MA, for Crimebuster and any others that might be interested)... not a great back issue selection (mostly recent stuff), but a nice clean open store. Not sure if they'll make it for long selling just comics and no gaming stuff, but I hope so. Got a couple pre-packaged minis ($15 each for both 8 issue minis, so not bad)
One was Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters from 2006.. I guess it's a bit of an alternate universe, but not the 'regular' one, just one were the other Superheroes weren't around. Interesting takes on the characters (especially Phantom Lady)... nothing earth shattering but solid enough for me to get the 2nd mini from ebay.
The other was the Martian Manhunter series from about the same time... it was pretty terrible. Overly graphic and massively predictable... definitely wouldn't recommend.
