That Incredible Hulk 340 brings back some memories. I've never been a real fan of the comic, prefer the Hulk Magazine (which featured Moon Knight) but I remember Wizard pricing that book rather highly. I spied it as part of a bargain mix on Ebay and got it for less than $3 in NM from a seller called Uncle Bubba, who didn't seem to care what books were valued at. I also got the first appearance of Rocket Racoon for about $2.50. And those are the only 2 Hulk comics post 1975 that I own. I do have some random 12c-20c cover books but I got those mostly because they were in great shape and had an opportunity to get them for next to nothing...
Also got some of the Topps bubble gum cards from the tv series....
Great deal, mine cost a bit more than that. Hahaha I occasionally read Hulk as a kid in the 80s/early 90s, but it was never a favorite or anything. I was a Wolverine guy growing up, however, and that great Todd McFarlane cover has always called my name. It's nice to finally have a copy, and it turned out to be a pretty decent read. I always enjoy a good epic battle between 2 superheroes.

Found a seller who had a couple of lots I was interested in and he accepted by best offer, plus it was free shipping, so have these two small lots headed my way... Showcase #85-87, the three Firehair issues done by Joe Kubert... and Mark Schultz's Xenozoic Tales #1 and 2 -M

I've been focusing on completing some of my shorter runs lately-- series where I only need a handful of issues to complete. With that in mind, these arrived today-- the last three issues that I needed of Death Rattle vol. 2.
Now to focus on completing vol. 1!

Added a Super-Villain Team-Up #9 to an order (of more modern Marvels) as an impulse buy. I'll have to dig out the Avengers it tied into to re-read. Have some others of the title coming my way from a fellow CCFer, I think I maybe used to have #1 and #17 once, but the only one I have now is #14 which tied into a Champions story. It's funny how DC had Secret Society Of Super-Villains around the same time, no idea which title may've inspired the other...

Last week, when I made one of my rare trips into town to go to the office and take care of some stuff at the bank and post office, I also ventured into two local comic book shops. At one I found this early '70s digest (which they probably had sitting around for a while, but I noticed it this time). It costed about $4. Another shop is having a 50%-off sale on most books in English, so I snapped up this Atomic Robo tpb (published recently, but it reprints material from 2008, which now falls into the classic category):

Eight Kilos - 17 books (mostly hardback) of Franco/Belgian (and a couple of translated) books just arrived in the post! Some filling gaps in runs, some by creators I've liked before, some 'I've heard of this series and it has been running for decades and I should just take a look' and some 'it's only one euro' randomness. That's me sorted for a while....

Another Saturday, another hunt at one of my local haunts-- was really pleased to find a nice copy of "Demon in a Bottle" at a decent price. Also picked up another Daredevil issue-- That leaves me needing 11 issues to complete the 381-issue original run. Also scored a couple of nice crime comics... a pre-code issue and an early code issue. Plus, the usual potpourri of romance and horror books. Plus-- "Tommy Gets the Keys"! Big fan of "Demon in a Bottle," nice grab. May I suggest seeking out Iron Man 127? It's the issue directly before this one, and it leads in to this issue, particularly in the ending. And it can be had for dirt cheap.

Picked up another Matt Baker book this evening. I was sure I was going to be outbid while I was at work, but it all worked out. I got it for just a few dollars more than what Lonestar was buying it at in its condition, so I think it's a good deal. It's low grade, but I have a low grade budget when it comes to 50s books, especially those by the noted creators I am seeking out. Authentic Police Cases #35 with Baker cover and 2 Baker stories inside... -M
