Nice to come in from work and finding my celebratory purchase from MyComicshop.com on my front porch. Rewarded myself with a few choice comics in recognition for beginning my new job. The Lone Ranger and Tonto. Topps 4 issue mini-series by Lansdale and Truman.
Topps Zorro #2, 4, 9 by McGregor and Mayhew to complete the full run.
Dark Horse Conan #20, 44, 48 by Busiek, Nord, Truman, Giorello to complete the full 1st series run. DC Star Trek the Next Generation Shadowheart issues #3, 4 to complete mini-series. DC Tarzan #238, 240, 243, 251, 254 to complete the series. LR & T, and Zorro-- I've got those too-- both good reads!
DC Tarzan--- ain't it a great feeling to put a series that you love into the "complete" column?

Not a purchase, but thanks to the generosity of brutalis, these showed up in my mailbox this afternoon... just a handful more issues needed now to complete that run. -M

I fully intended NOT to go hunting this weekend... I had convinced myself that I had other things to do. I lost. I sure will be glad when my bands get back to gigging on weekends-- I've got too much time on my hands that I didn't have before... it's resulting in my collection growing faster than normal. Some of what I picked up this weekend-- The Avengers books are in remarkably good condition vs. what I paid for them. I'm not trying to complete the series, but I'll pick up nice looking silver age any day if I can get a really good deal. This was such a case. However, I am trying to complete Creepy Things, Weird War Tales, and the issues of Superboy that contain a Dial H backup story. I'm very close on Creepy Things and Superboy, but I have a ways to go on Weird War Tales.
The Charlton War books were because.... well because Charlton-- and because they're from near the end of Charlton's existence, which means very low print runs.

^ the reprint of that story in Avengers #29 in Marvel Triple Action #23 was the first Avengers story I ever read and owned. I didn't get my actual first issue of Avengers until nearly a year later (#144).

My casual accumulating of Marvel Red Sonja takes another (pointless) step towards completion. A reprint from Team-Up #80. Byrne did a good job of tracing Frank Thorne in places. - it was a quid. It would have been rude not to buy it.
and another humongous (480 pages) volume of Spirou for a fiver (inc.postage) - that's a penny a page.

I had to do a double take when I saw Spider-Ham on the corner box, then I realized it was a reprint.

God, how I hated Spider-Ham. And here I am... 3 issues shy of having all of his Marvel Tales back-up appearances.

I had all the early Spider-ham appearances. They probably go for a pretty penny now...

Confessor, does that Hulk Bunny remind you of anything?

I had the first Spider-Ham (and also the Hulk with Rocket Racoon), but sadly I traded them away to a friend into funny animals. Got a couple Thors wherein he was a frog and I forget what else back. If he still has them he probably has no idea they might be valuable. I bought at least the first few Captain Carrots too; I was an easy sell for anything remotely different and that might be at all fun. 'Mazing Man, Cap'n Quick & A Foozle, Bone, Yam... those at least I still have around somewhere. I don't think I made it beyond that one Marvel Tails with Spider-Ham though, the idea might've been more fun than the actual execution? I should've bought anything by Mark Armstrong though, Steve Mellor... not so much.
