Green Arrow by KirbyI just got this artwork a couple of days ago. I just loved it very much! Do you mean you bought the original art? I've seen it at cons a few years ago - Mike Royer was selling it. Here's a blog post with a long quote from Mike about the piece: comicfdc.blogspot.com/2013/01/mike-royer-green-arrow.htmlIt's a reproduction ... sorry!

Robot Defender - Jack Kirby's Reproduction - Limited RunGot this from another dear friend of mine and it's a beauty of a masterpiece by Jack Kirby. I just loved this artwork and I was thrilled to get this. He wanted me to have it and wanted to get out of collecting artwork and this is the last piece he has. I will be getting 6 to 8 more of these next month.

Really nice work, you must be stoked to have all these to display! How big are they?
A couple of clarifications - the FF wedding piece is signed "Romita", and the Giant-Man is his second costume, designed by Bob Powell - although Kirby did draw the cover that your image came from.

Most of them are around 11" by 17" and the Robot Defender and Orion is 2' by 3' - and I don't want to get any bigger than that. I appreciate the information that you gave me and I will put that into use. Appreciate that.

Nothing to see here. My question has already been answered. That'll teach me to read to the end of the thread before I comment.

It's a reproduction ... sorry! I don't know what Kirby was using as a reference but that is a heroic bit of arching - the arrow is on the wrong side of the bow! A right-handed, right eye dominant archer would have the arrow on the left side of the bow. (i.e. the same side of the bow as his body.)

If you used the left side it would go all crooked.

My gut feeling was that you were right... but a bit of googling suggests that we're both wrong and our esteemed simian contributor has it right: www.learnarchery.com/basicarcheryinstruction9steps.htmlNotwithstanding that, that GA pose looks really wrong - I don't see how it would be possible to stand square-on to the bow with the hips, and rotate only the shoulders to draw the bow like that.

I must be misremembering. It doesn't seem very intuitive, though, does it? Edit: It is all coming back to me now. The monkey is right. Sorry, monkey!
