It's just sort of a common courtesy thing, you pull off to the right side of the road or highway and you meet, if you feel that it's a dangerous stretch of road and you can both drive its common to suggest meeting at a gas station at the next exit or something like that. I see. Yeah it was just kind of weird to me that two strangers can immediately get on the same page like that. Hopefully it never happens to me.

I have always wondered. If someone bumps into you on the free way or regular street, how do you signal to them to pull over so that you can both exchange info or do that whole song and dance. Assuming they don't want to get away from you that is. Say you two are both in the far left lane on a freeway and there is a decent amount of traffic. Do you guys both have to switch lanes together one at a time and just pull off at the next exit or something? I never got how folks handled that. I just want to know in case it happens to me. Or in case I bump into someone and mess up their car.

That wall of manga is damn impressive. Was the a banana flavored ice cream cone? Also what was that thing that looked like vanilla soft serve on a hotdog bun? It was "pineapple candy" ice cream. Pretty good. And yes that was vanilla soft serve in a sweet bread bun. Tasted a lot better than I thought it would. I wish I had another. One of the best surprises of Osaka. At first I thought the manga were games. The food all looks delicious. Beautiful pics. Did you score any good imports Pap? Also, nice Niners gear! Too bad we suck hard this year (I call it the curse of the Giants). It's the Kyoto Manga Museum. Huge place where you can freely pick up and touch first edition manga and read them. Unreal. They pretty much have everything ever created. A lot of people are just sitting at desks in there reading. Of all ages. The only thing significant I remember buying was a New Era Tokyo hat. I'm a fan of New Era hats, and Japan has some licenses and hats that are just hard to find overseas. And yes, too bad the 49ers suck. Seems like they were on the turnaround when I was there. False hope. Whenever I travel somewhere I always try to bring my 49ers, Giants, or Warriors gear. Especially overseas. All very cool and so cool about that manga museum. Do you go over for business Papa ? No it was just vacation. My wife visits her family every few months in Macau. Sometimes I tag along. Places like Japan or Korea aren't that far away from Macau/Hong Kong so if we get the chance we'll travel somewhere.

Here is the last set of photos from our last stop in Osaka. And that's it. Even though a part of me wants to go back and do...whatever...I feel like we got a lot done in ten days. There was a sense of "well time to get back to your life and reality" when we headed to Kansai airport for departure back to the states. I guess you can only suspend your other life for so long before you have to get back to it. Unless you start a new one elsewhere. The last place we stayed at was a sharehouse in Osaka. In that last photo were the people we stayed with. There was definitely a sense of adventure when I was there. I only knew the people for about two days, but they all had their reasons for being in Osaka, and a few of them weren't sure what the near future really held. Just felt like in that time, in that place it was cool to get to know a group of strangers that had their own dreams and aspirations. I hope I get the opportunity to cross paths with them once again. Anyways, since I've been back it's definitely felt "meh" again. Like I mentioned earlier though, it's probably just the difference of being on vacation and not having to worry about your responsibilities for about two weeks and being back having to deal with those things. I'm back to working out, drawing more than I ever have before, and continued my Chinese language learning on my own. I'll be heading to Korea in about three months, but this time it will be with my wife's family. We'll be together the entire time. My wife's brother and his wife (both around our ages/mid twenties) are great to be around and I always enjoy seeing them. My wife's parents are a joy, but there is definitely a language barrier there. I've learned Mandarin off and on the last few years. I know enough to probably survive, but not to carry on a conversation. Hopefully with enough dedication within three months I can improve my skills to the point where I can actually talk to my wife's father. Her family is Cantonese, but they all know Mandarin to a decent degree. Except her mother that is. Whatever. At least I made a lot of memories on this trip and met some people I won't soon forget. If you get an opportunity to visit, be sure to take advantage of it.

It's been nearly two weeks since I returned from Japan. I was outside the states for about two weeks, with ten days spent in Japan. I have to say, even though traveling from place to place can be a pain, I think I miss it already. I had been before. Essentially alone in 2009 when I was staying in Tokyo for a few days with a friend. I did a lot of exploring by myself. This time I was with my wife and it felt quite different. I don't know why. I went to three places this time: Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka all in that order. Spent about three days per city. Got to see a lot of nice things and made a lot of new memories. Here are some of the photos we took in Tokyo. This is the one city I had been to before. It took me a while to remember a lot of the nuances though. Figuring out the public transportation for instance. After a while it wasn't that bad, but I wish I understood Japanese at times. I only knew a little in case I really needed help. Very clean people and clean city...as far as clean cities can be I guess. Japanese are very civilized in a lot of aspects. We stayed in Nakano and mostly explored central Tokyo spending most of the time in Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku with stops in Ginza and Akihabara. Some other small places I'm forgetting at the moment too. Good to be back here. I'll post some photos of Kyoto and Osaka later. I went to Japan for 10 days in 2005. Absolutely loved it. Kyoto was amazing, one of my favorite cities I've been to, if not the favorite. Hiroshima was also fantastic. I'd go back to Japan in a heartbeat, and can't say enough good things about how great it was. Yes. And now that it's been two weeks I find myself missing the place more and more. I don't know why. I didn't have this feeling when I left Shanghai, Nanjing, Hong Kong, or Macau all those times. And if I lived there, I'm pretty certain my affinity for the place would dissipate. It's a lot different being on vacation in a place and actually living there having to make a life for yourself with expenses, work, and other daily facets of life. I'm going to Korea in three months. I wonder how that will go. Anyways, here are some more photos from my trip. This is when we hit Kyoto. We also took a side trip to Nara in the process, a small town not to far from Kyoto.

I picked up Super Smash Bros. Wii about a week and a half ago. Really fun game when I've had time to play.
In other news Street Fighter V is coming to the Playstation 4 and PC exclusively. Saw a leaked trailer and it looks great. Now I REALLY need to get that PS4. Too bad I don't have the money right now.

What are you talking about? I posted that after the episode aired and put the other spoiler in tags. You really are a rude person, go to my ignore list. To be fair, posting plot twists in an episode only a few hours after it airs warrants spoilers. Some people don't watch it as it premieres. What are you talking about? I posted that after the episode aired and put the other spoiler in tags. You really are a rude person, go to my ignore list. We're not all watching in the same country, so "after the episode aired" is pretty meaningless. We're not all watching in the same country, so "after the episode aired" is pretty meaningless. O so true dat. Exactly. Thank you.

Cyber Monday always sounded comical to me. They should change it. Anyways, I got the new Smash Bros a few days ago. It's pretty fun. There is an 8 player smash that is ridiculous. Can't play that option online though. I'm guessing for lag reasons. You can always get a few friends over and just have the rest of the slots be computer controlled. It's pretty dope.

I didn't mean to be rude. I just hate when people do that. Especially in a thread that isn't specific to the show itself. I'm on west coast time. The show hadn't aired at that point or it was in the middle of airing at the latest. Even so it's only been a few hours since the premiere.
And no spoiler tags were on the first sentence which correlates directly to tonight's episode. Otherwise why would I complain? I'm guessing it was an accident. Just make sure you know how to utilize spoiler tags correctly next time.

Just got back from seeing Interstellar for the second time. I quite love that film. I saw that film last night in IMAX. I had a good time. I was looking forward to it for a while because it really seemed like it was going to tackle some ideas of humanity exploring space.

I'm an issue or two past the latest review here. It has gotten pretty good and kept my interest. I was wondering what the hell that Manhunter thing was about that Hermes told Wonder Woman to look into. That was really random. I thought it might be some tie-in thing from the time. Thanks for the clarification.

It's unfortunate the Giants lost Pablo, but the writing was on the wall. A lot of fans on the main Giants forum are ticked regarding the message he left on his twitter handle, implying that San Francisco will always be #1 or something like that, yet he left for essentially the same kind of deal. The way I see it, it's hard to complain. He helped the Giants get three rings in five years, including their first ever in San Francisco. He can go get his mega payday. At first I was really disappointed, but then I thought that it's really hard to complain after three rings.

Just got off a 14 hour flight to Hong Kong from San Francisco. Then proceeded to take a 45 minute ferry to Macau where my girl's folks live. This is I believe the 4th time I've been to Macau over the last three years. Nice looking place. Going to Japan in about three days. Tokyo, Kyoto, and then Osaka. Should be fun times.
