Future with CCFOn January 30th, I'll be flying to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to see old friends from College that I've not seen for a very long time and spend a day in that city staying at a friend's place. Then, on the 31st ... we are taking a leisurely drive to Atlanta to see the rest of my college friends and stay there until the 15th of February. I'll be back here from the 18th of February until the 28th. Starting March 1st, my girlfriend and I are heading to London, England for a week there and after that we'll be spending the rest of the month in March before heading back home around the 3rd of April. After the 4th of AprilI'll be very active with my club that I run, and my club have 174 members and my girlfriend and I are a big part of that club and spending more time with it. Of which, I don't have much time spending online here in CCF Land and that's why I'm no longer reading any books and canceled my reading goals in the 2019 thread and deleted my posts there. My future here is not so bright anymore and sometimes along the lines ... that I might delete this account for the 2nd and final time and will not compete in the CLASSIC COMICS COVERS CONTESTS anymore. I may at some point, may not cancel my account and may end up posting a post every so often to reflect on my weight loss, movies, and anything important for all of you here. Right now, my girlfriend and I may get married in the Spring of 2020 and she and I love to travel and that's the reason for not spending any time here in CCF. I'm not changing my avatar anymore and one that you see is the one that remains the same for the duration of my time here in CCF. I don't have a pull list anymore, ... and not investing any monies towards future expenses involving Comics. If you have any concerns ... please send me a private message and you got until January 29th to allow me to answer your questions about my future here. I'm totally burned out here and rightly so. Thanks for the memories ... Respectfully Submitted, MechaGodzilla1974
You have a lot on your plate and it's understandable if you want to back off of the CCF / comic book thing for a little while.
It happens to all of us where we can through peaks and valleys.
Personally, I don't have as much free time as I once did and consequently am not on here as much, and that's ok.
It's always here to come back to. You're not obligated to be here and if you're not enjoying it for whatever reason, then take a little break.
Come back when you're refreshed and ready.
Never been to London. Jealous ! You and your lady have a great time !

That's one reason I prefer DC : the multiple earths / dimensions

My friend Bob did something akin to what I've been thinking of doing; he made his own Bisley wrap and wrapped the arcade game in his basement.

What happened with the pre-COIE potential, Hondo? Shooter saw the potential : great characters with editors stuck in the past.
He ran it up the flag pole to the powers that be and it came back they didn't want them, but Shooter saw the potential.

What I miss about the early DC/Marvel crossovers is the "shared earth" policy. It felt so special to know that the likes of Superman, Spidey, Batman and Hulk all lived on the same earth. I was a tad dismayed when years later, it was all multiverse stuff (I know there probably is an earth - I forget the designation and don't particularly care - where DC/Marvel heroes lived together). I still enjoyed the likes of DC VS Marvel and JLA/Avengers, but I am not in awe of the separate universes policy, whereas I was in awe of the shared earth policy. Right there with you taxidriver1980 and many a night dreamed of comics within such a shared universe. I want to see the day to day interactions between the DCU and MU heroes and villains. What would Kingpin think of Lex Luthor and vice versa. How wild would it be seeing Spidey getting annoyed over shooting out his webline's to building tops only to keep snagging Superman as he flies by or always getting his web line tangled in Bat lines? Would love to see some double dating with GA/Canary and Hawkeye/Mockingbird or a charity archery contest between GA/Hawkeye (can you imagine the trash talking? Make WWE look tame). Instead of a yearly JLA/JSA teaming it would be JLA/Avengers and go for a big summer one with JSA, 7 Soldiers, LOSH, Freedom Force, Invaders, GOTG, Defenders, FF, X-Men! So much FUN to be explored. such are the things Fanboy/girl dreams are made of!!! It's come close to happening at different times in the past where one was ready to buy the other.
When Marvel was on its knees in the 90's, they agreed to keep the mutant titles and sell the rest to DC except for Spidey. DC wasn't doing unless they could have Spidey. Deal off.
BTW it was interesting because at the time Marvel was still advertising subscriptions in their comics and I remember seeing the Elektra titles in the Mutants section lol.
I suppose it could still happen, maybe, but probably not.
Marvel was trying to buy out pre-COIE DC as well.

Sorry to hear that RR.
Wanted to let you know we had many years of that great magazine as well and had to get rid of them.
I later got my dad Nat Geo on cd. It went back at least 100 years I remember.
I see used sets going for $ 20-50.
The set also has an index feature that's extremely helpful.
Hope this helps you out brother.

Always hoped to meet him.
So hard to pin down what character(s) he's done I like the very best.

I think a kid would be a nice change of pace and would add extra tension as they're more vulnerable than a teen.
Lots of us fans are, or were, married. Lord knows there are times that's challenging as well. I've really enjoyed Clark and Lois being married, as well as the FF and Spidey.

and now Target jumps in with an all-new content Primal Age DC 100 Page Giant based on Funko's line of retro-style barbarian DC characters.
an easy pass for me but I can see where it would work for kids
Contributors are pretty impressive with work from Marv Wolfman, Scott Koblish, Jerry Ordway, Louise Simonson, Phil Winslade, Brent Anderson, Chuck Patton, Karl Kesel, Tom Derenick, Keith Pollard and Jose Marzan Jr

Why can't writers let some of these characters be kids instead of somehow making every non-adult a teenager ?

I'm a huge Superman fan, and really liked having Jon as a child, and am disappointed in him advancing in age like this.
As for this week's Fantastic Four, it's finally feeling more like some of the better runs. It's been better than average to this point but not great though I feel it's gotten closer to what I want this issue and I'm really digging Aaron Kuder's art which has a nice Art Adams feel to it.

Good to hear from you Kurt !
Hopefully you're on the mend.
Obviously priorities dictate that the CCC be delayed a bit but I think we all understand.
