I can see getting that from Injustice, but Nightwing has been pretty light and fun.

I liked Injustice, but I agree they took it too far. He's been great on Nightwing so far, even if he insists on keeping him and Barbara a couple.
He also wrote the Jon Kent book (son of Kal-El) which had an amazing crossover with Nightwing. He definitely gets Dick Grayson. He seems to do more elseworlds than anything...he's also writing Dark Knights of Steel, which had an intriguing premise but failed to keep my attention and Dceased, which features Dick Grayson, Vampire King.
I'm guessing he's a fan (though he killed him off in Injustice really quickly)

33? What was the withering away business about then? Generic mortality? Tales Of Asgard is a problem, it started getting good before the main event did, which means some tales aren't even in When Titans Clash, but the first one is hideous, I'm not getting that one for more than 5€. I was more so making light of how long it takes them to reprint Epic Collections
And yes, I would not touch the first Thor Epic with a ten foot pole. Though I do wish Marvel would do a proper re-release of the complete Tales Of Asgard, but without the hideous digital coloring
Indeed! I REALLY want them to hurry up and do X-Men: Proteus (which costs over double cover if you can find it)... instead they re-printed Lonely are the Hunted (which is readily available at a good deal)

I really need to read more Judge Dredd.. I'm hoping to get more of the 'case file' trades as I finish what I have in the to read pile. I agree the world is most intriguing. The Dan Abnett stuff is really good, where casts the Judges as the bad guys against some freedom loving space colonists(Insurrection) then just writes a Space Western with that in the background (Lawless)

I didn't notice this until today with the solicits, but apparently it's been out there. There will indeed be a new Titans book (also written by Tom Taylor). They advertising it as 'The Titans have replaced the Justice League'.
Finally!
I know it probably won't last, but I'm excited anyway!

I've been really enjoying (and looking forward to Atom: The Beginning .. the Astro Boy prequel. Some great stuff about AI that is very relevant to everything that's going on now (and a bit prescient, considering it was 1st written in 2016)

Well, you could get the Cornette figure, from his site and the Russo one, then let Corny bludgeon him with the tennis racket. Hours of cathartic fun! Speaking of figures, when the Hasbro WWF line was released (1990), I really wanted figures of Vince McMahon, Jack Tunney, and Mean Gene Okerlund. I definitely had a Mene Gene figure at one point.. maybe one of the giant rubber ones? (That might have been before 1990) As far as wrestlers sticking around longer, that's because for a very long time WWE was the only game in town. TNA/Impact never was REALLY competition like WCW was, and AEW barely is, so if you're a professional wrestler WWE is where you are. You make take time off and come back, but that's always the goal. Not like the old days where you'd work somewhere a couple years, then move on.

I agree the backgrounds are nice, but that's some painful animation for the actual turtles.. are they trying to make it look like stop motion?

What is the general thought on this forum about the Green lantern series? Is it a good franchise, or is it the same as Hawkman and , 2 series that always get canceled ? I am aware that Geoff Johns had a nice few years and made the book popular for a while, but it always seems like the book has never been solid. As a franchise, it works best when they are 'space cops' and kinda off on their own, not really doing things on Earth or with the rest of the heroes. I find Hal Jordan boring as heck. Guy is fine. Kyle's MY Green Lantern, and he worked best as an actual super hero in the DCU, imo. John Stewart is great for being the leader of the Corps when they do space things. I hated the emotional spectrum stuff, that made me stop reading, and I don't love all the GLs of earth being around at once.

Here's the thing about change... it has to be change we (as a fan) likes... if it's not, we complain. Since obviously not every fan wants the same change, most stick with the illusion of change and then reset to the status quo.
Personally, I like PROGRESSION.. change with a logical purpose. Random change for changes sake, not so much.
I'll use Iron Man as an example...
Progression is going from a partying playboy to an alcoholic, to overcoming that and being a hero. His company went from weapons to energy. That's progression, and was, on the whole, pretty interesting.
Having him lose his company, only to build a new one in a year, like 4 times? Making him a teenager for a while? Killing him off then having him come back like 4 times with no real change? Cycling him through every female hero he's ever met for a 'girlfriend'. That's the illusion of change, as it always come back to Tony being rich with a big company and single.
Often such things overlap, but you can deal with changes for no reason if the progression still happens. When they just do a whole lot of nothing, it gets annoying.
The worst is when progression happens, and then is removed. Justice and Firestar are the best example of that. During the New Warriors run they were figuring out how to be a superhero couple, or not, and Angelica was deciding if she wanted to BE a superhero. They moved from the New Warriors to the Avengers, and then broke up because Firestar decided to retire. Really good stuff. Since? Firestar (after clearly being portrayed as an adult) was in college for a while and just bumming around as a part time hero..Now suddenly she's in the X-Men and uses her powers just to be warm on a snowy day, with no explanation. Justice reverted back to his NW days and spends what appearences he has trying to relive the past, and no one seems to remember he was an Avenger. Blech.

agreed.. I'm a little worried about where it's going, but it was fun. And I was ridiculously excited to see Purgills! And I swear one of them had someone on its back. I want live action Ezra!

Paperback Jack Loren D. Estleman
This one grabbed my attention at the library... I've read one of the authors westerns, and this seemed to be a new noir-ish book, so I was intrigued.
Turns out rather it's a fictionized account of the dime novel industry.... the main character is a vet that wrote a few magazine stories (and one serialized novel) before the war and came back home to find out the magazines were mostly gone, but paperbacks were where it's at.
The main character is thoroughly annoying and way to perfect and successful, but the other characters are pretty interesting. I have no idea how accurate the story is (it seems to fit the general progression and timeline of similar happenings in comics, so it makes sense), nor do I know if there a particular author and/or publisher he's fictionizing, but it was a decent story.
There's a bunch of references in the back, so it's at least intended to be close to real history, I think.

I've been playing Champions of the galaxy for years.. they still make sets... they started in as '2087' (100 years into the future) and are around 2132 or so now.. for a while there were 2 a year. they've also branched out ALOT, it's an ongoing fed with legacy character, face/heel turns, etc in the official story, but of course you can just do you're on thing. they used to be black and white, but switch to color a few years ago and have been putting out some of the old sets in color. There are a few spin off feds, a development territory, all kinds of stuff. For a while the fan base was pretty rabbid, but it's settled down some.
The game itself is very simple, but it's SO fun booking a fed and playing it out.
They also have (separately) real wrestlers under the 'Legends of Wrestling' banner. For a while they were signing indivuals (basically anyone who the company could get to agree) then later they made deals with Chikara, RoH and a few other indys. There aren't cards for everyone, but if you like the territory era you'll be pretty happy.. mostly just the really big names are missing, and of course there are copious fan made cards for those (some produced by the same guys that to the stats for the real cards)
Its not a card game, though.. it's a dice game.. like Strat-o-Matic or APBA for team sports. Each wrestler has a stat set with his moves on it, and you roll dice to see what move he does, then you roll defense for the other guy to see how effective it was. Then there charts for out of the ring, getting tossed in the ropes, etc.
I'd strongly recommend checking it out!
