Comes down to 3 for me:
- The JLI - Reid Fleming, World's Toughest Milkman (especially the Horrors of Ivan) - The Atomics, the AAA Pop issues. The facial expressions get me every time.

I'll go with 7 to 10 issues. I can call it the "Takion to Aztek Ratio of Tepidity".

USAgent. That midpoint between tough guy antihero and insufferable ass.
Just an awful character.

Buy a bunch of Marvel Epic Collections and give them a thorough read.
Especially the silver age Daredevils and Avengers.
Don't really need to pick up any more floppies. (Fingers crossed)

His Batman work was among the best ever.
I am also a big fan of Whisper and the Hellcat mini.

Wouldn't a Daredevil/Batman story by Frank Miller be the ultimate 80's fangasm? Depends on what era Frank Miller we are talking about; 80s Frank Miller, yeah. Today's Frank? Well........................................ Make it Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz on Moon Knight and Batman and you have a bet! How about Gene Colan on art?

Just looking over those stories from Shooter, O'Neil, Byrne and David....
I can't imagine how much anxiety Gruenwald, DeFalco et al must have been having.
The thought "Keep your head down and power through" must have been a constant.

Lot of great ones mentioned ( I especially liked seeing Namor chosen)
I'll add my love of Thunderbolts 1-40 or so and the first 30 plus issues of Iron Man Vol. 3.
Busiek was on fire in the late 90's!

Amphibian from Squadron Supreme quit.
As far I know he was never seen again. Could be wrong.
