If I am crazy let me know...nobody has ever agreed with me.

Would need some actual motivation beyond 1 photo, but so far I'm in the "You're crazy"-camp:
Cyclops has little in common with Kirk. They are both American and in leadership position, but they approach that leadership completely differently. Chekov/Colossus and Sulu/Sunfire only have nationality in common. Uhura/Storm only skin colour. I'm not exactly sure what the link between Scotty and Banshee is. And few characters have less in common than Nightcrawler and Spock. Your picture leaves out Wolverine, who became a pretty important character.

You know that the Scots and the Irish are different nationalities, right?

The X-Men did indeed rip off Star Trek (check out the first appearance of the Shiar) but not in the way you suggest. It also ripped off Modesty Blaise (Storm's origin), Alien (Kitty's showdown with the N'garai, plus the Brood), the British Avengers TV series (the Hellfire Club), the Legion of Super-Heroes (the Imperial Guard), et al, because that's what Chris Claremont does: mine other people's ideas and repackage them as his own.

I still feel there is a similarity with the diversity of characters. I didn't mean to suggest that they were identical, but always felt there was an inspiration taken from Star Trek.

The new X-Men were actually based on Mission Impossible more than Star Trek as far as membership goes. The initial idea would be that there would be a small cadre of recurring X-Men who would be joined by other mutants from different countries depending on the mission undertaken. The international flavor was there from the begining. The x-men companion, a two-volume analysis of the series published in the early 80s, had a lot of material on the genesis of the book. It's still pretty inteesting reading, even after the X-Men franchise has been exploited almost to the point of self-parody.

So, are you seriously suggesting that Storm is ripped off of Uhura just because they have the same colour skin?! Nah, sorry...I think this is really a stretch.

You know that the Scots and the Irish are different nationalities, right? Not originally. The Scots were an Irish group who invaded Caledonia, and finally gained the upper hand at the battle of Stirling, AD 800 IIRC. I know that's a bit off topic, but I like to think it's the sort of detail that Claremont might have used.

Shouldn't there be a line from Dr. McCoy to Wolverine? Both could heal and had the same "warm" personality. Dammit Cyclops I'm just the best at what I do, not a superhero! Come to think of it, Captain Pike looks a bit like Professor X in that futuristic beeping wheelchair.

True, but not everyone is as obvious about it as Claremont.

At least the Imperial Guard is more Cockrum than Claremont, but you're pretty spot-on for the rest as far as I know.
