I've been reading the mid-90s X-Force, and, surprisingly, it's actually pretty good. Adam Mollina is pretty bad art wise at first, but he eventually evolves into a pseudo-Manga style that is weird for Marvel, but not terrible. There were alot alot of fill-ins that were pretty passable. The things about the 90s, though is that new mutants were around every turn. I think you can see why this one never appeared again: . So, yeah. His/her power (I'd lean toward his, but it's never stated) is that he can make one person's mind (including his own) go into someone else's body, or even swap them around... it only lasts for a bit though. At the end of the issue Shinobi Shaw deserts him an he probably dies, which no one was real sad about. So, what do you think? What are the worst one time/short term character out there?

Trying to adhere to the spirit of what you laid out, this is by no means the "worst character ever," but I remember Englehart's Mantis in Avengers feeling very much forced upon me, like when my Mom would make me include the shy/weird kid that I didn't remember inviting to my birthday party. Yeah, it was the right thing to do at the time, but once it was over, I didn't miss it.

Do I really need to explain this one? I love Calendar Man! Have you ever seen his first appearance way back in the early Silver Age? His crimes are based on the four seasons and, for the winter-based crime, he is dressed as a snowman while he's running around fighting Batman and Robin!
That takes huevos!
I would guess that Batman has about a hundred villains that are worse than Calendar Man.

How about this one for the Worst Character Ever! Worst DC Comics Character Ever and I do I need to say more? Oh, but this character offended no one(AFAIK) and merely called to mind those quaint, charming LOSH stories from the Silver Age. Must disagree . Arm-Fall-Off Boy = Quirky fun.

The late 60s attempts of various publishers to cash in on the super-hero craze turned out some really odd characters. Bee-hold Harvey Comics Bee-Man: www.dialbforblog.com/archives/197/

What about the guy in that issue of Detective Comics in the early 1990s who was killing people and his theme was the Dewey Decimal System? I think his motive was that he had an idea for a library system that was better than the Dewey Decimal System but the library officials laughed at him so he started killing people based on where their job would be listed in the Dewey System.
Or what about Two Tone from Detective Comics #630? He was a hired killer with two heads! He walked around Gotham City in an overcoat and two fedoras, like a 1930s movie gangster, but with two heads! And he was called Two Tone because his heads were different colors. One was Caucasian and the other was black. (I don't remember if they explained why.)
Two Tone is the official worst Batman villain ever.

Carnage. ANOTHER thing I liked about Bendis' Avengers. He did the right thing and killed Carnage.

"What Dewey Do About the Dewey Decimal Killer?"
and
"Don't Take Those Tones With Me!"*
I remember those vaguely. Solid stories.
*Not the actual titles

I would have said Fantomex, but he recently got a little less detestable in Spurrier's X-Force. Actually, never mind, he's still garbage. He's like every pretentious idea of Morrison's rolled into one character that's pretending to be a joke about himself but really isn't convincing. I really like Morrison, though. It could be Kitty Pryde. The late 60s attempts of various publishers to cash in on the super-hero craze turned out some really odd characters. Not the worst but the ability to only use his powers one at a time made him a poor mans Superboy.

Marvel...Deadpool DC...Lobo
Sure some lame villains deserve ridicule, but those 2 are derivative trash, with the sole purpose of relieving you of money better spent on navel gazing. (Im sure theyre both australian)
