George C. Scott as General Patton Patton 1970Warning Course LanguageMy favorite movie of all time - George C. Scott gave a memorable role as General George S. Patton Jr. in this drama filled, action filled, and intense war movie that grips to your seat. This is one of the best pictures that came out in the seventies and I was in awe of how well Scott did with this role. Powerful War Film that followed Patton's career in World War II.

The Magic, the Beauty, and the Grace of Ginger RogersGown that she wore with Fred Astaire in Swing Time (1936)The talented and lovely Ginger Rogers that danced with the likes of Fred Astaire from 1933 to 1939 with these films listed below. From Wikipedia.Rogers was most famous for her partnership with Fred Astaire. Together, from 1933 to 1939, they made nine musical films at RKO: Flying Down to Rio (1933), The Gay Divorcee (1934), Roberta (1935), Top Hat (1935), Follow the Fleet (1936), Swing Time (1936), Shall We Dance (1937), Carefree (1938), and The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle (1939) (The Barkleys of Broadway (1949) was produced later at MGM). Maureen O'HaraOne of the legendary actresses around and still with us at the age of 94. These are my two favorite images of her - a gorgeous and refined beauty that captivated audiences on the Silver Screen. For your own enjoyment Farrar. Thank you so much for Tierney and O'Hara! Along with Darnell, whose pics you posted earlier, I love these particular actresses' facial structure--wide-set prominent cheekbones that flow into a wide rounded jawline. It's a very harmonious facial structure that shows up well in even in black and white, though of course O'Hara was expecially spectacular in technicolor. Are these all your own photos, MechaGodzilla? As you may have guessed I am a fan of old Hollywood, and I am envious of your collection. I love scouring eBay for old movie mags.

... One of the greatest swashbuckling movies ever. I just loved this movie - see the trailer below and all-star cast loaded with action, romance, lavish costumes, and drama. Fabulous Movie and I just loved this 1952 Movie starring Stewart Granger and Eleanor Parker... Ah, Stewart Granger--he truly had a face (and physique) made for the camera. I read his autobiography a few months ago; he was no writer but his charm came through and the image on the cover gives some idea of his incredibly photogenic face: I will be sharing some photos of him and Rita Hayworth in Salome in a week - I need to find photos that are tasteful here in this thread. Are you interested in seeing them? ... You can P/M me if you like.

Though not for that long of time. I don't think anyone would sell me her photos at 2 or 5 years old. :-) But thanks to Jim Silke I'm very glad I found, I think, the most beautiful woman ever. December 11 makes me sad every year.

My favorite movie of all time - George C. Scott gave a memorable role as General George S. Patton Jr. . . and I was in awe of how well Scott did with this role. Particularly masterful given that Scott was just 41 years old and convincingly played a 56 year old Patton. I agree this is a magnificent picture, and Scott was one of the greatest actors of any generation.

Are you interested in seeing them? ... You can P/M me if you like. [/quote] Sure, I would love to see the film's tasteful photos you have. Reminds me of a funny passage in his aformentioned-autobiography (which I conveniently have right here): Granger noted during that at the film's star-studded premiere, at the climactic scene when Hayworth is carrying out you-know-what on a platter, an audience member yelled out:"Hey man, dig that crazy dessert." Any photos of Granger's one-time wife, the lovely Jean Simmons? Very classy actress, could have been a star on an A. Hepburn-level, but spent years trying to disentangle herself from a Howard Hughes contract. She was especially beautiful in The Robe and Androcles and the Lion. Thanks in advance.

Great pics of Linda Darnell. IMO she, Gene Tierney and Maureen O'Hara were in a class by themselves in terms of Hollywood beauty back then. I have some Gene Tierney and Maureen O'Hara coming your way in a day or two. Thanks for your contributions here and appreciate you stopping by and making a comment or two on my thread. More Gene Tierney is always good. Been in love with that face since I was 13....

Audrey TotterAnother quintessential ladies of Film Noir. The Postman Always Rings Twice, Lady in the Lake, The Unsuspected and a personal favorite, The Set-Up. She was one of those tough-talking dames that had a heart of gold. Great PR photo with Robert Ryan for The Set-Up
