trolls are gonna troll. I mean, we had what, 50 years of sci fi where the hero was always a straight while male... its bound certain people off that is no longer the case. I just ignore them they will go away eventually if more people did, IMO. As far as the show goes... y'all have motivated me to put ep 2 on at least

Ok, so it's bad that the best moment of ep 2 is when the Wookiee jedi has his 'get off my lawn' moment.
It's not credited for some reason on IMDB, but the white woman with the face paint in episode three sure sounds like Mira Durlan.... seems like she should be older if it was her though.
Apparently Disney has decided the Jedi of old are naive, unable to use their powers effectively, and in fact kidnapped children to add to their order? Not sure that's what I picture. This is pretty painful.

So, what happened to Yord's apprentice? Why was she even introduced if her master just went off without her?

In the older material it's implied children were given willingly

Having just watched the 1st 3 episodes of the Acolyte, I'm confused as to what the controversy is all about. Episode 3 is pretty bad, but breaking the entire franchise bad? And the first 2 episodes were fine, if nothing spectacular. From the reaction online, I was expecting a Kenobi-level or Rise of Skywalker-level travesty, and instead I got 2 mid-episodes and 1 unintentionally hilarious for the wrong reasons episode that very clearly is not meant to be taken at face value and is withholding answers for later. The only part of Kenobi I've seen is the second battle between Obi Wan and Vader. That scene was good, if only because it showed Hayden CAN act.

I will never be able to get past Vader just turning and leaving mid-fight like an ADD-riddled toddler rather than bothering to check that he had killed the man he had been obsessed with killing for the last 10 years, then Obi Wan returning the favor. Kenobi is quite literally 'Plot-induced stupidity, the series,' because it is very rare that there is a single plot development that isn't the result of the characters being complete idiots.

I still felt Hayden and Ewan did a good job.

Am I crazy, or did Sol abandon all the redshirt Jedi to die in The Acolyte episode 5? He disappeared for the entire first part of the fight where the 'Sith' killed all the no-name Jedi. Maybe they could have survived if he bothered to fight before he was the only Jedi left.

That force blast seemed to have been pretty strong, it's more than probable he was blown into a tree and knocked out until we see him emerge.

Two new trailers have dropped one for Skeleton Crew which has been described as an Amblim like coming of age story set in the Star Wars Universe and the second is a leaked trailer of The Madalorian and Grogu movie which looks to be a theatrical release in May of 2026 streamable.com/l7aqi0?src=player-page-share

The star wars universe is a pretty big place, I'm more than cool with seeing suburban stars wars kids discovering a derelict space ship and going for an adventure.

I hope so.. the 1st episode was painful enough I'm not watching the 2nd one right now... ugh. I have to say that I have zero interest in watching The Acolyte. Nothing I've seen associated with it has piqued my interest at all. I kinda think I'm done with this seemingly endless procession of Star Wars TV series. I just have no enthusiasm towards them at all. Disney+ had a 3 months for $1.99 per month deal, so I signed up and I'm binging on Disney because I plan to cancel when the 3 months is up. I've been watching probably about a 70//30 split between Star Wars and Marvel (in favor of Star Wars) but I haven't checked out Acolyte and from what I've read, I probably won't. I'm getting caught up on Clone Wars (the 2008 series now) - which I'm finding quite good once I got used to the animation - and the Mandalorian. I also finished Obi-Wan Kenobi, which I found entertaining though the inconsistencies with the Original Trilogy were annoying. I also rewatched Rogue on and the Solo movie, and I actually liked both better the second time around. No interest in ever rewatching the Sequel Trilogy. While Disney has cranked out some pretty good Star Wars content, I agree that it's too much and a lot of them I have no interest in. However, the Lego Star Wars stuff is great!
