I think you are suffering from too much turkey or being in Texas affected your brain-to me that captured the feel of being in the theatre in 1977 or 1980 far more than anything in any of the prequel movies did! -M My Texas-bred insanity aside, I think that the original films were couched in the sci-fi aesthetic of the 70/80's that can't be repeated today due to the heavy use of CGI and modern filming techniques. Ultimately, nothing will really capture that original feeling in my opinion. You're way too young to be that cynical man! And I say that with the greatest affection. -M

I had read a while ago he was going to use as little CGI as possible, but judging from the preview, that isn't the case. Not that it will ruin the movie for me, but I don't think I have the built in fandom that is going to make the movie awesome no matter what either. If it's on par with the common CGI fueled space-action movie then I might not even watch it. Haven't watched a Terminator movie since the second one.

It's fan-made. The real one will be released tomorrow. Ah, nevermind then.

Yeah, I just saw that on Yahoo and it looked pretty good to me. I liked the new look for the storm troopers helmet and the design for that sith's light saber was sweet:

Overall, a pretty underwhelimg teaser, but the final shot with the Falcon was simply glorious.

Trailer doesn't really offer anything but nostalgia (it would have more impact if we didn't already know how retro-flavored the movie was going to be). Disappointed that there wasn't one glimpse to be had of Luke, Han or Leia.

Watched the trailer this morning, and to say I was unimpressed is an understatement. I get that it's a teaser, but there was nothing in it that made me get all gushy like the "Age of Ultron" trailer did. I can't tell if I've grown out of Star Wars as a whole or just new stuff related to the franchise.

The way I see it is this, they just finished filming a couple of weeks ago so there really isn't much they could show us at this point, but I liked what little they had to offer. I think if you were hoping for more then I think you're expectations may have been a little too high.

Hmmmm....not sure what to say about this trailer. It makes it look like a pretty dark film. Darker than The Empire Strikes Back by a long chalk and jumpy too. I don't recall ever having been made to jump by a Star Wars film before, and this trailer made me jump early on. Dark and jumpy doesn't "feel" very much like a Star Wars movie to me.
Not sure I like flaming lightsaber blades with a flaming quillion (hand-guard) either. Also, shame that we didn't get to see any of the original core cast in this teaser, although I can see why they'd wanna save that for nearer the time of release.
On the plus side, nice X-Wings skimming over the water and some absolutely awesome Millennium Falcon footage at the end (presumably on Tatooine).
I'll reserve judgement until I've seen this, of course, but I'm not a big fan of J. J. Abrams generally and based on this evidence, I'm not convinced he's the man to save the Star Wars franchise. Colour me slightly worried.

Colour me slightly worried. I was surprised by the darkness as well, but I'm hoping that it's just due to the scenes they chose, for instance I've seen fan edits that make the New Hope appear to be a horror movie using only stock footage. As for the "flaming" light saber, I think that was the quality of the stream, in the photo I posted earlier of the same scene it just looks like a normal red lightsaber albeit one with a hand guard.

The Millennium Falcon did me in. Such an iconic ship that hasn't been seen in 30 years. The special effects look great, the droid, the speeder, etc. Still a lot of concerns of course, but I am pleased with this teaser so far.
