Multiversity: Ultraworld - I think this was a return to form after the ill-conceived Master Men issue. Only one issue left now, so I'll probably wait for that one so I can re-read the previous instalments before trying to digest the whole thing.
Nightworld: Midnight Sonata - thoroughly enjoyed this. I think there was enough material here to make this a 6 or even 8-issue series. Loved the Kirbyesque artwork and the writing was full of nice ideas well implemented. Looking forward to more work from McGovern and Leandri.
Sirens #3 - I hate to say it but at this point I'm reading this series mostly for Perez's artwork. The story isn't terrible but it isn't really grabbing me either. There's still lots of time for things to come together before it finishes, so hope remains, but at the moment I feel it's slightly disappointing.

Came home to my March comics! Very surprised, but happy some early comments: Princess Leia 1-2: Very impressed but this one.. they've set up a story that fits in continuity, 'feels' right, and doesn't have a pre-determined outcome. I love Leia's new sidekick.. great new character... A+. Elfquest: Final Quest 8: Beautiful art as usual.. story continues to meander a bit, but the progress is coming slowly but surely. Astro City 21: Great conclusion to a great story... best one in a long time. I do wonder about the timeline, though.. it doesn't feel right to me, but I'm ignoring it because Astro City is so awesome, and I expect Mr. Busiek gets it exactly, even if I don't. Multiversity: Ultra Comics: Well, that was interesting for sure. I'm not sure i'd call it good, but interesting for sure. That's exactly how I felt about Ultra Comics as well, it was an interesting concept and I liked the easter eggs but I think I liked the story better when it starred Grover :

I recently bought the first issue of Dynamite's Flash Gordon after having read several glowing reviews. Is anyone reading this series? Looking at the art, it reminds me a lot of Alex Toth, which is always a good thing. It's one of my favorite Dynamite releases, ever. Parker really tells great tales, and he doesn't just assume that everybody knows the characterizations of the protagonists anyway, he actually develops them. I'm definitely going to be getting into I think. I'm considering making the classic Alex Raymond stuff my next object of collection. Flash Gordon is a character that I've taken for granted for far too long. Is Dynamite about to release a trade of the new Gordon series? I believe there are around eight or nine issues out, yet I couldn't find a trade for the new series on Amazon or Instocktrades.

On the subject of Multiversity, I wish DC would let Grant Morrison to a Captain Marvel/Shazam series similar to All Star Superman. Morrison seems to really get what makes Marvel work (he's more of a fantasy/fairy tale character than a mythological adventure character) and I think the series would finally do the character some justice after years of misuse. How was Morrison's Multiversity issue that featured the Marvels?

I didn't want to create a new thread for this, so I figured this would be the best place for it. For those of you who are thinking about Marvel Unlimited, or haven't used it in awhile but have an account, I'd like to inform you all that they FINALLY fixed their load issues with their comic reader and it is now (gasp!) usable. I haven't had a single load error since they overhauled the reader. It's also sleeker and simpler. I read on a laptop so I don't use smart panels and prefer to read in single page view roughly 90% of the width of my screen. You can now scroll down fast and simply go to the next page by clicking on the far left or right of the screen. Simple improvements like this vastly enhance the reading experience for me.

How was Morrison's Multiversity issue that featured the Marvels? I'd say it was one of the best individual instalments of the series so far, though I'm not personally a Marvel Family fan. It definitely worked better as a single-issue story than most of the other issues, which I think read better as parts of the whole rather than as distinct narratives. And yeah, for anyone who is a fan, I agree, Morrison would be the perfect choice for an All-star Marvel Family miniseries, based on this effort.

This is the 8 issue Jeff Parker written series with outstanding art by Evan "Doc" Shaner. The current King: Flash Gordon mini series is by a different team. I've got the Alex Raymond Flash Gordon collections. He's one of my favorite artists ever.

The best Captain Marvel in recent years was the Jeff Smith "Monster Society of Evil" mini series.... ....and Mike Kunkel's "Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam!" series

I used it today and have the same issues but it might be the older iPad that I'm using. I haven't tried Marvel Unlimited but my 1st gen iPad is becoming more and more useless every day. I really need to upgrade, but I hate knowing every four years a machine that used to work perfectly fine will crash every time you try to open an app.

What should I be reading from Marvel right now? The only thing I'm reading current is from DC. I'm getting ready for Darkseid War because I love Jason Fabok's work, I'm reading Wonder Woman because of David Finch (although it seems his work has suffered in recent times), and I'm catching up on Scott Snyder's Batman run.
Haven't read anything Marvel in forever. At least current Marvel. I'm thinking about getting on the New Avengers that will be released on Free Comic Book day. Anything else at Marvel that is getting a lot of buzz?

But my wife abused it and never turned it off. Sometimes it loses the wifi signal for no reason. It's still good but maybe the download problem will be better with another newer version.
