A lot of people slam on DCnU, and it's been rough, but it feels like they're hitting a pretty good stride. I like most of what I've read, but have put Marvel money in indies. Anxious to see what happens next spring. I'm just the opposite, what I was spending on new52 stuff early on has gone to indies, but Marvel is putting out some stuff I enjoy currently. -M

Has anyone picked up Spidey #2 yet? For the first time I passed up on a Campbell/Midtown cover because Black Cat looks horrible...

I've been enjoying what Slott's been setting up. Nice turn of the tables at the end of the issue. And I agree, that Campbell cover wasn't all that.

I actually hotlinked the pic as I didn't have a camera handy at the time. My eye is on my desk, inside a Wonder Woman cup nestled with my inking pens currently. It's one of the variants I'm sure but I have no clue which.

my stack for this week Batman '66 #11 Batman and Frankenstein #31 Batman/ Superman #11 Forever Evil #7 Justice League of America #14 Justice League#30 Sinestro #2 Supergirl #31 Wonder Woman #31 Flash Gordon #2 Invincible #111 and what a good stack it was... 1. Forever Evil #7 ****1/2 out of 5: actually worth the wait, if it had a better artist I could have gone for 5 stars 2. Batman '66 #11 ****: a truckload of guest stars including Dr. Holly Quinn 3. Justice League #30 ****: Johns is writing the best Lex since perhaps Elliot S! Maggin (Lex killed The Watcher, he's that good!) 4. Invincible #111 ****: "oh well, let the slaughter begin" it seems the Robert Kirkman that writes The Walking Dead will also be writing this book too according to the letters page 5. Batman/ Superman #11 ***1/2: I like Doomed too much, I'm even enjoying the sidebar 6. Sinestro #2 ***: improved a bit over issue #1 7. Flash Gordon #2 ***: also improved, I'm liking the "Impulsive" Flash 8. Batman and Frankenstein #31 ***: much improved over the last pairing of these two 9. Justice League of America #14 ***: nice little moments as the team disperses 10. Wonder Woman #31 **1/2: the "Eewwwwwwwww Moment of 2014" may have a winner 11. Supergirl #31 *1/2: the only two Red Lanterns I like were in this, Kara and Dex-Starr, but I'm not reading Red Lanterns to see the rest of the story

Wasn't Kirkman the co-creator of Invinceble and the writer all along?

Wasn't Kirkman the co-creator of Invinceble and the writer all along? -M It was a joke in the letter column. They announced that Robert (The Walking Dead) Kirkman was replacing Robert Kirkman as writer, probably due to all the death and carnage that's coming up.

Can't say it often enough: If you like indies, try She-Hulk Moon Knight Daredevil Hawkeye Ms Marvel Superior Foes of Spider-Man Silver Surfer Black Widow Elektra I find those books as good as any I have read over the past 20 years. Also enjoyable, though not quite as good: Avengers Undercover, Loki, Agent of Asgard, Magneto, Mighty Avengers, Secret Avengers, All-New Invaders. Considering I was down to one or two Marvel minis during the Millar/Bendis age, that is quite a comeback Marvel made for me. But oddly, it's the B-List and C-List heroes that do it for me these days, much more than the core books.

Kind of a bummer but I feel like older readers were shut out of the Nu52 /Dc comics world. They just changed everyone into unrecognizable characters running around with similar names. I used to enjoy Birds Of Prey and the Wally West Flash. I don't see them anymore.

I used to enjoy Birds Of Prey and the Wally West Flash. I don't see them anymore. You know what? I could have dealt with that if the books had been noticeably better than pre-relaunch. But everything I tried either disappointed me or got canceled quickly. Lord knows many of the books had been pretty bad before Flashpoint. Anyone remember Deathstroke's Titans? Fall of Arsenal? Gay for Justice?

Gay for Justice? To add to that. The books I did enjoy had editorial swoop in and destroy everything I liked about the book. Earth 2 is a prime example of that. A book without the Trinity is going to have this big mega arc end with Superman vs. Superman. Oh joy...
