Just realized next week's gonna be heavy for me:
-Ragnarok #1 (Simonson! SIMONSON!!) -Supreme: Blue Rose #1 (Ellis! Lotay!) -Amazing Spider-Man #4 (Slott!) -Daredevil #5 (Samnee! Waid!) -Life with Archie #37 (Archie!!)
Also, I just bought the first Hawkeye collection, since I've been reading them digitally and not getting the hype -- maybe the physical copy of the art will get me. Also waiting on the Loki: Agent of Asgard and She-Hulk TPBs.

Funny: I'm reading more Marvel books than ever before: Avengers, New Avengers, Avengers World, Daredevil, Hulk, All New X-Factor, Original Sin, Original Sin: Hulk Vs. Iron Man, Miracle Man reprints, trade waiting Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Silver Surfer, She-Hulk, maybe Mighty Avengers... I'm in the same boat. Compared to only getting She-Hulk and the occasional mini during the worst of the Millar/Bendis years, Marvel is getting a lot of attention from me. Same here. It's pretty much top to bottom my favorite time for Marvel since the Simonson/Miller/Claremont/Byrne/Stern years. Which ended when I was 3, so I guess this is my favorite time for Marvel in my lifetime.

Anyone know why the first few issues of Five Ghosts aren't available to download on the Image site?

Re: Spider-Man 2099 (2014) #1 Any thoughts? According to early reports, it sold in excess of 100,000 copies. I got the Midtown variant (haven't read it yet).

It was okay. Nothing to really shout about, but a solid enough first issue. I would have rathered that they approached Rick Leonardi to be the fulltime artist rather than just for a variant cover, but the regular artist is fine if unspectacular. Peter David titles tend to build over time, so I suspect it will improve.

The last new Marvel comic I bough was the Death of Ultimate Peter Parker finale.
I anticipate the next one I buy will be a Star Wars comic.
I believe the last one I bought from the main 616 Universe was the issue Captain America was shot dead.

I forgot to add that to my pull list: it's on back-order.

Anyone here seen the preview for the Marvel 100th Anniversay issue of Avengers (it features Doc Strange fairly prominently)? But wow talk about totally moving away from the Marvel House style of art. It's written and drawn by James Stokoe and I get a totally Euro-comic/Heavy Metal vibe from it. The only thing I've read recently that gave me the same vibe was the first volume of Brandon Graham's Prophet. It's also reminiscent of trippy Doc Strange art from 60s a bit. The preview is here... Avengers 100th anniversary issuebut here's a couple of sample pages... I am not quite sure what to make of it all but I think I need to get it just to satisfy my curiosity.... -M

Anyone know what the premise is for the upcoming Spider-Verse is ? Somehow, this is such a crazy idea I'm really interested in it. Every Spider-Man ever from every different timeline, essentially. (That Marvel has the rights to, so no Spec animated Spidey, no Tobey and Andrew Spideys) Even timelines that haven't existed yet, presumably, like ones where he keeps the Captain Universe power, one where he's just the Bag-Man. Slott wanted a world like Cars where the Spider-Mobile was sentient and his secret ID would have been Peter Parked Car, but the new EIC turned him down. I sad. I know three things when it comes to superheroes: I like Spider-Man, I like multiverses, and I like magic lightning. Two out of three ain't bad! Unless one of the Spideys is worthy of Mjolnir. Or is a Billy Batson riff.

That 100th Anniversary Avengers artwork is awesome. Stokoe is an amazing artist. One of the best in the industry, in my opinion. I'd recommend checking out Won Ton Soup, Godzilla: The Half Century War, and Orc Stain (depending on your tolerance for constant dick jokes). I hope this Marvel gig elevates his profile because his work deserves a huge audience.
