I don't think I have one...but a short list, like Slam said sometimes its particular incarnations of characters...at any point in the last 20 years any of these could and has qualified, if you go back further than 20 years the list changes...
pre-Flashpoint Phantom Stranger Jim Corrigan/Spectre Kent Nelson/Dr. Fate pre-Flashpoint Zatanna pre-Flashpoint Madame Xanadu Doctor Stephen Strange Conan Kull Flash Gordon Hagbard Celine

milk and cheese probably haunt my subconscious more than they should Your failure to invoke Squeeks has the credentials committee reviewing your membership here. my credentials are always in question. baboon barrister might say the question is what, not who is your favourite character so i might escape on a technicality (although he is a bit vague on how what/who (and that/which for that matter) work) as a counter measure, baboon barrister has reported you post of nick fury as objectifying marvel's suavest to a "what" and calling for a full board reset. and do not tell me for one minute you dont stare out of the window some days and think "hmm wonder what milk and cheese are up to today".

Favorite Golden Age Characters: 1940s Batman and Robin (a dark city, eerie villains, great mysteries, heroes with hearts)
Favorite WW1 Character: Hans von Hammer (fatalistic, existential, and brooding, Greek tragedy in a triplane)
Favorite WW2 Character: Sgt. Rock (fatalistic, existential, Greek tragedy draped in MG bullets)
Other Favorite WW2 Character: Mlle. marie (Where, oh where is a Showcase presents for her, me, and the two there readers who like her stories?)
Favorite Second-string Character: Green Arrow (gallant old farty GA, whose pre-goateed adventures would have made a great serial)
Favorite Barbarian: Conan (fatalistic, existential, and brooding, pre-Greek tragedy in a loincloth)
Favorite Western Character: Bat Lash (ne'er-do-well, vagabond, romantic, sometimes fatalistic)

I've had a bunch of different favorite characters because it comes down to the artist/writer and how they are handled. But the one character whose consistantly been a favorite (except some thankfully brief moments) over the last 30 years has been Daredevil

(And why not? The old issues were so cheap in the 1970s. I got a beat-up #2, #3 and #4 for $20 total in 1976. And I got a real nice F #6 for $3 about the same time.)
In the first 50 issues alone there were so many great issues. Wally Wood art in the Namor issue. John Romita on the Ox, the first Gladiator, the return of the Owl. Gene Colan and the Mike Murdock issues!
Barry Smith draws Starr Saxon! (And then it sucked for 20 or 30 issues.) But then DD moved to San Francisco and the Black Widow guest-starred and then Steve Gerber and the Death-Stalker and Bob Brown art for years.
And then Frank Miller. (Contrary to popular belief, Daredevil had some grand times before Frank Miller.)
I finally quit worrying about having every issue about #245 or so.

Yeah those early DDs were fun with great art by Everett,Orlando,Wood and the Jazzy One.That Namor issue was one of my favorites for that year. And when Colan came aboard it looked great.I fondly remember the Jester's intro. The wackiness of Gerber and Angar the Screamer. But like many long running Marvel series in the mid 70s it started to get tedious to me and I quit reading. It was the Miller issues that brought me back to stay. The 2 periods post-Miller I despised were the Scott McDaniel years (typical for what sucked in the 90s with Daredevil dressed in armor) and the Andy Diggle stuff
