Currently watching episode 5 and thinking it's awesome. It's just Daredevil. Comics come to life. Every actor perfect. Story perfect. Thoughts?

I've watched the first 5 episodes too. I like it! I like how he is starting out in a black outfit. Kind of how Rex Smith looked in The Trial Of The Incredible Hulk. But I immagine he will go to red as the series goes on.

Rex Smith Daredevil was da bomb. If this series can homage and yet top that, I'm impressed.
I've never watched a single superhero television series made in the past twenty years. The last one I ever saw was Lois & Clark. I even missed out on Smallville. And, considering how many episodes have been made of how many series now, I have no intention of playing catch up with them all. But if Daredevil is truly solid, maybe I'll try it since there's only five episodes thus far. I could easily keep up with it.

They actually released all 13 episodes of the entire season at once -- that's Netflix's model for TV shows, to enable binge watching. I imagine Rob and Coke have only managed to get through the first five episodes though. The series has been out for less than 36 hours after all. Then again, I'm sure there's more than a few people out there who have already completed the entire season.
I'm really itching to start watching myself, but work and parenting duties have forced it to take a backseat for now. Probably a good thing, as there's a very good chance that once I start I won't stop until I'm done. Daredevil is one of my favorite superheroes. I've always been a big fan of A-listers like Superman, Batman, Spidey, etc. but Daredevil is my favorite as far as comic book superheroes who've yet to fully transcend the medium -- i.e., those other guys have firmly entrenched themselves and have seminal stories outside of comics, but aside from a few adaptations, Daredevil has mostly stayed within the comics book world.

We don't have Netflix, yet, and I have multiple episodes of Arrow, Flash, Constantine (still), SHIELD, and Gotham waiting for me on the DVR, so until I get caught up on those, I am not getting Netfix to watch this, but this series (Along with the other ones to come on Netflix) are the reasons why I will finally break down and get Netflix. All the promo stuff has looked good and I am looking forward to watching it, but my tv (or movie) watching time is extremely limited (as Amy and I work almost opposite schedules and we like to watch these shows together, so it's finding times when we are both home, awake and not having other things needing done to watch them.

All those shows you mention come to Netflix a year later anyway, and none are as good as Daredevil. (Though I haven't seen Flash because it's not yet on Netflix, but have heard good things)

Watched episode 7 this morning. It was perfect.
Now I really need to get back to unpacking and shelf-building.
I will sit back down with Daredevil tonight.
We can discuss the show in more spoilery detail when everybody (except mrp) has had a chance to see it.

While it resembles the Trial of the Hulk outfit, it is much closer to the John Romita Jr. design, which is almost certainly what they were going for. Uncertain if Romita Jr. himself was inspired by Trial of the Incredible Hulk.

I've watched the first four episodes so far. It's a lot better than what I expected based on the trailers. For one thing, certain dialogue in the trailers sounds a lot better in the context of the storyline. I also like the way they've decided to prevent fight scenes. It's much better than the highly overrated fight scenes in Nolan's Batman movies. And so far, the acting in Daredevil is pretty good from most of the major characters.

I saw the first episode of Daredevil and thought it was pretty average. The setup is good, though I thought the final scenes of cramming in as many series subplots as they could was kind of eyerolling.
I do hope that they DON'T go the Frank Miller route and make Karen a drug addict. I hope she becomes a female character who is fun and upbeat in their otherwise dark world.

We can discuss the show in more spoilery detail when everybody (except mrp) has had a chance to see it. In keeping with the Rules of the Road, I'd suggest either creating a second thread for spoiler-filled discussion or you can go back, re-edit the original post, and clearly indicate "SPOILERS" in the thread title. Considering that I eventually want to watch this, I'll steer clear of the thread for now if you opt for #2.

I am proud to say that I exercised a tremendous amount of self-restraint and only watched one episode of the series this evening. So far my opinion is that it's very entertaining and very well done. Tonally, it presents itself as a work of crime fiction that happens to include a (relatively) unpowered superhero. In this sense, it is very much in line with The Dark Knight. Definitely looking forward to watching more.

This much I will say because it's a netflix's exclusive, the show is a lot more violent then what you might see on ABC's Marvel's Agents of Shield so if any of you have little kids you might want to watch a few episodes alone before you decide to let them see it. At the of episode 4, the violence was very graphic.

At the of episode 4, the violence was very graphic. Yeah, it's definitely a bit of an outlier in comparison to the rest of the Marvel film/TV universe fare. Although it's supposed to take place within that universe, I have a hard time seeing how it would fit if they ever decided to cross over with any of the film or network TV productions. I'm guessing that all the Netflix shows will have a similarly darker and more violent character to them given the types of heroes they are dealing with. Makes me wonder how they're going to make Iron Fist's costume work for the show.
