Thoughts about the Hand/Chaste storyline and what might be in store for Defenders: Matt is the Chaste from Stick's story, just like Elektra turned out to be the Black Sky of the Hand. We've now seen that Stick is willing to kill other members of the Chaste order to protect his own interests, and he continued to keep tabs on and manipulate Matt even after leaving him. When asked point blank by Matt if Stick was the boy in the story, the answer was a dismissive "sure." Whatever Stick is playing at, he wants to make sure that the Chaste and the Black Sky are in his pocket.
Could the War be what brings the Defenders together? It's possible, but I have doubts. It could be a big enough story to pull in all four series leads, but Matt is the only character of the three we've met so far that has a personal stake in it. I'm thinking that the crossover will involve the Defenders taking on a military conspiracy in Hell's Kitchen. We've already seen Simpson/Nuke in Jessica Jones. Hints were also made in that series that Jessica's abilities are tied to the same experiment. Luke Cage has already mentioned that his powers come from experimentation, and the similar nature of his, Jessica's, and Nuke's powers suggest that there could be ties. Add to that the Col. Schoonover/Blacksmith plot from season 2 of Daredevil and we have some connective tissue pulling the series together. I'm hoping that they just save the Hand for the Defenders. I'd rather they somewhat ignore it on the next season of Daredevil. In Daredevil Season 3 I want to see an eventual Daredevil/Punisher team-up against Fisk (who could officially become the Kingpin) and Bullseye.

Bernthal basically confirms towards the end of the interview that we'll see more of an all business, classic version of Frank in the future.

Finally finished. It was good. Really good mostly. whole lot of potential for greatness that it often fell just shy of. Shortcomings and all, it's easily the best comic book show on tv. Mostly disappointed by the punisher.

Better fight scenes than season 1, but I felt the plot was stronger last season. Would have liked more explanation for the villains, and at times Matt seemed too dumb. Foggy was great. Electra and Punisher were good side-characters.
Still the best comic-book show when compared to the great Jessica Jones, good Agent Carter, ok Agents of Shield and Gotham, and terrible Supergirl.

Mostly disappointed by the punisher. I LOVED Bernthal's portrayal. Hands down the best live action portrayal of Frank IMO. If anything, I thought the Hand was the biggest letdown, especially who the leader ended up being. I really think they should've saved Elektra and the Hand for another season, because Frank's conflict with Daredevil and his trial were by far the most compelling parts of the show (well, and of course Fisk's confrontation with Murdock in prison) Overall I'd give the season a 9/10 And I agree that it totally stomps shows like the Flash, Arrow, Agents of SHIELD, etc.

Fight scenes were a bit better in some regards Imo. Such as feeling more dynamic and energetic. But there was too much obvious staging and choreography, and so many clearly faked punches it was distracting to me.

5 episodes in the second season, and so far, this is IMHO absolute rubish, soap at its most cliché, everything falling together mechanically with zero surprise, like an awkward fan made homage to the Frank Miller run.

Finally started to watch this - a whole 1 episode in, and I wasn't wildly impressed. There were a couple of issues - (1) the shoot out with the Irish gang was just ridiculous - why would they just stand there being shot, firing wildly out of the window at nothing, while hundreds of bullets fly in, from different angles rather than from a single point and (2) the elephant in the room - the DD outfit just looks ridiculous - the body armour is OK, but in common with all the current crop of Marvel characters, the face mask just doesn't work in a "realistic" context, it just makes the wearer look like an idiot.

Melvin makes him a new mask a few episodes in.

Not bad, not great either. I'd say the Netflix Marvel series, are clearly the best superhero ones out there; things like Arrow and AoS don't even play in the same league. Regarding the Black Sky and the Hand, I have a few questions: - What were they originally intending to do with the big "metal egg"?
- Why did Stick bother killing the first kid in Season 1, if they can take him back?
- Why haven't they?

I've been avoiding this thread because of spoilers (I'm on episode 7 or 8 of season 1), but I wanted to share this. Somebody remade the opening sequence using 8-bit animation and old-school video game music: here's the link.

3 episodes in, and unlike the first series, I'm really not feeling it - the set-piece fight just felt like a retread of the hallway fight from the first series, and the big argument beween Frank and Matt didn't convince.
I don't know if this series isn't as good as the first, or that I had limited expectations for the first and had them exceeded, whereas my expectations into this one (with all the hype over how good the Punisher was) were much higher, and so far, aren't being met.

I'm at episode 9, and I'm really struggling. The actress who portrays Karen Page is using the samehalf sobbing tone she did in True Blood throughout, and that is annoying as it can get. The rift between Matt and Foggy is the most unrealistic one, the way Stick is tolerated in this is just stupid, and more than anything, the kingpin's plan with Castle is so abyssimaly stupid and uncharacteristic that the last 4 episodes are definitivly dreaded on this side.

It will grow on you probably It did on me. The big argument isnt convincing,Yes I agree to that one.But as the series goes on You will like it and I believe this season is a lot better than Season 1.

I actually like the Kingpins' Plan to keep the Top chair empty until he is freed
