You seem to be implying judging people in a political party is the same thing as judging them on some racial or such grounds. There's a difference between bigotry and judging people for the beliefs of a group they voluntarily join... You may have missed this clarification. But that second point is EXACTLY what my father used to say in defense of his judging all African Americans. I am not saying they are the same thing, but the logic is the same. Not the same magnitude of wrong by any stretch, but still logically flawed, inflammatory, and non-productive. The clarification that equates the two things I asserted are not the same?

It's official: The GOP (hearts) racism at Mizzou. From the comments: I'm going to look around and see what Bobo said about Mizzou. On the 1 hand, I think they may have a point, on the other, the GOP accusing any one else of living in a bubble is automatically laughable...

Ted Cruz, courting evangelicals, will highlight "victims" o religious intolerance at two rallies. The christians who tried to get married but were denied a license by the bigoted atheist county clerk? The christian victims of the secular notary who wouldn't notarize documents related to a church's financial transactions? A christian couple who couldn't get a wedding cake because of the refusal of an atheist baker? Or is it going to be more christians upset by something like the pain they feel when somebody writes an Internet comment and lowercases the c's every time he writes "christian" in defiance of auto-correct? "The kid at Starbucks said "Happy Holidays" to me! What is the world coming to??!!??"

I really shouldn't tell this story. I'm not including this as any kind of proof of anything. It's just ... it's just so Rhonda! My best friend was talking with his father about an article that he had read about the declining bat population in the Midwest. Rhonda overheard and asked "Do bats eat bees?" My friend was like "What?" Rhonda said "Well, I know that bees are in decline all over and I thought maybe the Lord was culling the bats so they won't starve with all the bees gone." This made me laugh, but I'm not sure "liking" it is the response I want to go for...

The debates need to be taken away from the RNC and DNC and put back in the hands of the League of Women Voters. But they asked hard, policy-specific questions and we can't have that. Cei-U! I summon the good old days! I believe those are called "gotcha' questions" now.

Marco Rubio's clarion call to homophobes coming through loud and clear. Marco Rubio wants a new definition of "discrimination" that offers an exemption to homophobes who want to use the word "tradition" to disguise the fact that they're using their religion to justify their homophobia. Uh, no, Senator Rubio. "Marriage" has not been defined the same way for all of human history unless you're using very special definitions of "all," "human" and "history." How is it not "political correctness" when one group wants to re-define words so that they can attempt to deny their fellow citizens their basic rights because of an alleged appeal to one very specific section of a very old book that they frequently ignore when it's not convenient? But it's not politically correct to call it "political correctness" when conservatives are offended.

Rubio was seeming like one of the actual sane ones on the Republican side and someone that I could actually not hate myself for voting for, but I can't give him a pass on this. It is not acceptable to discriminate against citizens of the country for any reason.

Rubio says gay marriage ruling isn't 'settled law' cuz it conflicts with 'God's rules'. Because, obviously, every person in the United States should be forced to live by one sect's interpretation of a very old book. (At the same time as the sect ignores everything in that same book that would be inconvenient to their way of living.) I'm having a hard time placing this in the "thoughtful and sensible" column.

To be fair, let's keep in mind that the other side is equally intolerant! Look at all the atheists and homosexuals trying to keep straight Christian couples from getting married.
Wait a minute ...

Just imagine what those "conservatives" (I use the adjective, not the noun) would do when/if they become the minority, with all their guns...

"Religious rights" activist upset that boycott of gay-friendly businesses means there's no place for christian fundamentalists to shop . And we all know the most important message of the christmas season is to support bigot-friendly commerce. Saint Paul really stressed this in the first epistle to the Galvestonians.

BigotMart and HateOil, two companies that are devoted to obsessing over two or three verses in the bible and ignoring the rest.
