I feel your pain, SG. I fell off the wagon too. Too much emotional drama going on in my household, but I'm going to buy the food that I need to succeed starting tomorrow. I guess the trick to all this is to never regard an 'un-wagonning' as the end to your journey - don't be discouraged or beat yourself up, just get back in the wagon when you can and resume. I'm not saying results will come as fast if you fall off a few times, but results will come if you keep getting back on. I really screwed up in 2011 when I went off-track for really stupid reasons and let that be a brick wall rather than a speed-bump. Now I'm no longer the callow youth* that I was then... I understand that the journey towards the goal always restarts each day; ideally from a better place than the day before, sometimes from a worse place, but as long as your path generally wends towards the destination, you eventually get there (* ahem, of a mere 50 years old)Thanks for the encouraging words, my friend.

the emotional pain of this week has really screwed me up. . but I forced myself to do an hour walk today (the 1st I've done in a week). .and trying to get back on a healthy eating plan (despite the Tex-Mex, and Mexican Martini I had for dinner. . . Nick was desperate to get me out of the house to try to get me out of my funk).

I'm down to 253 ... lost a pound in one week because of Water Polo and the Playoffs will begin next week and matches will fall on Monday and Thursday mornings. I will be hitting the treadmills, stationary bikes, and walking tracks during the Winter Time to keep myself in Shape. Indoor BikesI'm seriously thinking about getting an indoor folding bike in my Condo and store it in my walk-in closet.

This thread seems to have lost some steam. . and right around the holiday season when it gets tough to stick to an eating plan! so let's keep this going, folks! I saw my new Dr. today (after my PCP for the past 20+ years announced he's going to a "boutique system" and I refuse to pay ~$1700 / year out of pocket for a Primary Care Physician, that my insurance won't cover, just to join he new network) anyways, my new Dr. said my numbers from my Physical (Back in August with my old doctor) are great and that he wishes most of his patients have these numbers. . . and he told me to drop the one remaining Blood Pressure med I'm on, to 1/2 a pill each day, and see him again in 3 months, when he'll likely take me off my final med completely. a reminder. . here's what I looked like when I started (245#) here's what I looked like in Dec. 2015 (down ~33 lbs): and here's what I looked like a couple of weeks ago (down ~72 lbs), where I've maintained for several months now: If *I* can do it, you can do it

I'm still hanging in there: 161.0 today, back on the bike after nearly two weeks off due to Gastro-intestinal uprising - very enjoyable -4 degrees to and from work (that's degrees Celsius, not that degrees Flintstone you still use Over There).
Should be back in the gym tomorrow, as well.

You and @bert are the standard bearers . Good job guys. I'm holding at between 200-202, which is a victory for me. Usually after Thanksgiving , I'm off to the races.

I will weigh myself this Thursday and report back on Friday and I'm taking an extended absence from this forum and won't be back by February and/or March. I'm going to be offline for awhile and do more important projects.
Sorry Everyone!

I went to workout this morning and did 2 miles on the indoor track, did weights, and stationary bike for 20 minutes and after all that ... I'm holding steady at 250, loss of 2 pounds from November 23rd and I was surprised by that. This is my last report until sometimes next year and I don't know when I'm coming back here.

I know the feeling! once again, battling some depression this week, and got sick on top of holidays, and just SLAMMED at work (2 days in a row was online from 7am until after 10pm. . with almost no breaks, and definitely no time to go exercise).. so I'm sure i gained too. and because working so late, I'm eating WAY later than I have been. . . afraid to get on scale, but going to do that on Friday anyways. won't be shocked by a 5-10lb gain. need to get back on plan!

I've been opting not to worry about my weight with all that's going on in my life right now. Still, I've been trying to get into habits that make me healthier and feeling better. I make home cooked meals each night, cook home cooked breakfasts, and eat leftovers from dinner for lunch each day. I've eliminated fast food from my life entirely, as well as most restaurant food and processed food. That being said, I indulge when cooking and don't try to go for low-fat or low-carb options. I try to enjoy and be fully nurtured by my meals, and I don't watch my quantities either.
With all this, I've been able to hold at -5 lbs. In time, as life gets a little easier, I might start actively trying to lose weight again. I've certainly got more time to hit the gym now. It just isn't a priority for me at the moment.

Hey bert, I'm willing to bet that you haven't gained much even thought you're not being strict. It takes a whole lot of binging to gain weight. 3500 calories over what your body is used to is a lot.
