I came back from my vacation to Jerusalem last Saturday. Before I left, I was 194.4 and I usually gain 5 pounds whenever I take a week off. I didn't have the courage to weigh myself until today ( and two days of decompressing/ eating normally) but I'm happy to report that I'm .4 pounds less than when I left. 7-8-17 194.47-19-17 194That makes it from 217.8- 194, Which is 23.8 pounds loss. It's all a journey , and a slow one at that but I'm happy I didn't balloon up past 200 eating bread and sugar away from home. Great result, 'bone - I may be wrong, but I think this is the first time on the thread where you've maintained stable under 200 - hoping this is a good milestone for you on the way to even better things

Thanks for noticing, SG. A quick look at my records shows that I've been under 200 since 6-3-17 . I have less than 13 pounds to lose to get to 180. I'm still shooting for that.

I'm up to 253, just went to my gym and weighed myself and gain 4 pounds in 2 weeks due to spending too many meetings with my club and ate a 5 course dinner and dessert with my club for successfully mapping out the next 10 years of our schedule and making everyone happy.
I just came back home walking 2 miles and planning on hitting the gym more often ...

I'm down to 190.4 as of this morning, that's a loss of 27.4 pounds. It's exciting to be knocking on the door of the 180's.
April 18 2017- 217.8 May 1 2017- 213.4 June 1 2017- 200.4 July 1 2017- 193.2 July 28 2017- 190.4
The last time I was in the 180's for more than a day was the year 2000

I'm going to be very busy starting mid-August to mid-September with stuff to do and I just came back from the gym for a short workout and I'm down a pound by cutting back on sugars and french fries. I'm at 252.
I will try to post something every 2-3 weeks until October 1st; I'm holding to that promise.

still haven't been able to get back on my exercise program, so going on 2 months now without regular exercise (other thank the evening walk with the dog).
I did weigh myself yesterday, and came in at 187.6#. . so up just about 2 lbs from the other week. . overall up 12.6 lbs from my lowest.
still.. not bad. .that's a 58lb overall loss.
but yeah. . NEED to get back on it, especially since I just booked for Dragon*con (hadn't been planning to go, but other plans fell thru, and the universe conspired to get me to Atlanta - cheap flight, friend with available space in room, vet able to medically board dog).
so have 5 weeks to try to get back on plan and drop 10 or so lbs.

4 years ago, my blood sugar was a bit high, only a bit, and i went on a pre-diabetic diet, and walked no more than 1.5 miles a day (every day).
this included fish as a red meat substitute, 4 main meals per week.
i went down 4 belt notches in 4 weeks. no cheating.

In 2012 , I ate only fish salad and water for 30 days and lost 22 pounds. The way I eat now has more variety and I've lost more but it took more time.

i know giving up sweets and deserts is difficult as #$@@@!!
but if peeps can go for 'traditional cocoa' instead, even if substituting a litre of that versus 'gorging' on a desert, it really helps
