Rick Jones should have been a broken up invalid by at least Incredible Hulk number 3.

At the risk of incurring wrath I'd include
Comet the super-horse, Streaky the Supercat and Rob Liefeld Beppo the Supermonkey, that were popular in DC's comics of the 1960s.

I'd go with Pieface in the early SA Green Lantern's as the worst supporting cast name, though Ebony White is not much better.
As for the worst supporting character...well it's a group entry and I would go with the Wonder Twins-they pretty much embody all that is wrong with the sidekick/hanger on type character but bring nothing to the table as some of the better characters in that role have.
A lot of the golden and silver age supporting casts were stereotypes or caricatures of ethnic or racial types and may have been acceptable at the time, they are now part of comic's legacy that has to be owned up to even if they are embarrassing. Their quality as characters suffers for that. By the time you get to the Bronze Age, comics are mostly past that (not all the way), so it is easier to look at supporting characters form that time and evaluate them based on their merit as characters not their reflection of bias. And so Zann and Janna on that end, are just plain bad characters...Gleek however, Gleek had potential.

(Complete with thought-balloons)... Well, it might get some of you to buy it....

Tom Peyer's Hourman series may make you rethink Snapper Carr. Such a great series, and Snapper's the primary reason why. I could never get into that series and totally forgot he was in the few issues I read.

I'd buy a fat hardcover graphic novel featuring The Punisher and his chihuahua any day of the week
