Finished it. My thoughts remained largely the same. Still really liked the main conflict but disliked many of the subplots. I actually liked the fight scenes more than in Daredevil because they weren't ridiculously over-choreographed like in that show.

I'm 3 episodes in, and I must admit, it hasn't really grabbed me yet. It's good, but not compulsive.

Overall the show was really good, but I agree that the subplots were a bit forced. I thought Malcolm's arc was rushed along too fast and Will Simpson's character did a 180 without much setup. Her power level seemed all over the place. I'm thinking they might have held all that back to maintain the "down-to-earth" tone of the show but will display her powers a bit more when Defender's comes around. I'm actually more excited for Luke Cage, since he's far more iconic than Jessica Jones and I'm hoping that his show is a bit more heavy on the superheroics.

Wasn't sure of this to start with, but I'm now 10 episodes in and I'm seriously hooked.

I dislike every character in the show so far with exception of Luke cage. And even he's not made that likeable or interesting so far. They are some pretty broken and unpleasant characters in the show... as it progresses, it becomes more apparent why some of them are that way.

I'm on episode 10....can't get the "it's Patsy" theme out of my head, haha!

Ok, so I'm a little behind.
Strongly unimpressed in the beginning, but episode 8 was just "OhMiGod" *Jawdrop* amazing. Hopefully this stays as good.

I think JJ is the best series Marvel/Netflix have done* - like all the other solo series, it's arguably too long at 13 episodes, but (to quote Lord Melchett) it twists and turns like a twisty-turny thing, and it's a psychological thriller all the way through (once it gets over the slowish start), and just gets better and better as the series goes on
(* haven't seen Punisher yet)

Season Two of JJ was released on Netflix last week, and I have made it through the first five episodes so far. I think this season is more consistent than last season, but it just doesn't have that "Wow" factor for me yet. Part of it, I know, is that I am a huge Doctor Who fan, so having David Tennant playing Killgrave (and doing an amazing job at it) had me really interested, and part of it is that while it's been consistent, it's been a little slow. Still, it's better than DD Season 2, IF, and Defenders, although the bar on the latter two isn't that high. Some nice Easter eggs in the first handful of episodes, though, for long-time Marvel fans. {Spoiler: Click to show}Take note of the name of the "noted hypno-therapist" that Trish mentions on her radio show, and while I haven't gotten to the complete reveal yet, as soon as I heard the first name of a particular doctor mentioned in relation to Jessica's investigation into her past, I'm almost certain who he will ultimately turn out to be.

I am at about the same spot as you^ (Episode 6). I agree it is not as strong as season 1 but still very good. I put it behind Daredevil (both seasons, because I loved both) and its first season in terms of the best stuff Marvel has done on Netflix. Granted, I have yet to finish Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders or Punisher. Terrible of me, I know.
{Spoiler: Click to show} Is the therapist you speak Ringmaster? Also, Dr. Carl is the doctor I am assuming you are referring to. I have no clue who he is...should I? Also, I think Patsy is on her way to becoming Hellcat without a doubt. The fact that she is taking that puffer has me thinking she is going to try and find a way to get powers of her own
Loved seeing the Whizzer and Emil! Also loved some of the mentions, like the superintendents kid having a Cap Action figure and also Whizzer's misquote of Uncle Ben's famous line.

You got the therapist right. It was a clever little nod. {Spoiler: Click To Show} I'm pretty sure "Dr. Karl" will turn out to be Dr. Karl Malus, who worked originally for The Enforcer and later for the Power Broker in the comic books, experimenting on people to give them abilities in exchange for their servitude to his boss. Malus was responsible for Hornet and Daddy Longlegs (in the original Spider-Woman book), Erik Josten becoming Goliath, Armadillo, and many of the wrestlers in the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation.

{Spoiler: Click to show} So this Carl Malus appears in Spider-Woman from the 70's? I have a healthy run of those issues but not sure I have his appearance...have yet to read them either.

Finally started season 2. I’m about 4-5? Episodes in. Boy, I so don’t care about anything or anyone in this show. Shouldn’t I care if every character were to suddenly drop dead? Cause, really I don’t think I would. The first season had intensity and drama and suspense and a degree of uniqueness. Yeah everyone was horribly unlikable and it was annoyingly “anti-male”, but I was engage and still wanted to see what happened next. I hate this endlessly bleak and negative world they’ve created and that has become so popular. I watch and can’t help but wonder why everyone in that city hasn’t slit their wrists yet? I hope it goes somewhere, but right now it’s the worst marvel Netflix show yet imo.
