I currently reside in a small town half way between Boston and Providence called Plainville. Nice neck of the woods. Have you seen it, it's great. They got stuff.

Thanks Hal, it's nice to see your familiar Einstein avatar too...and everybody elses, of course.

Sitting outside enjoying a perfect summer day in Redmond, WA! Any chance that we'll see you at the next Emerald City Con in Seattle? Absolutely! Wasn't able to to make it this year (traveling on business) but we'll be there next year for sure.

Currently in Atlanta, but I hail from Houston, TX, which is Dan B's favorite state in the U.S.

I actually have a good friend via Baseball Think Factory who's in Houston (& I think is a native), but she's under no illusions about that dreadful state.

Emerald (Seattle) City Washington - Pretty much my entire life here Doc, do you go to the Emerald City Con? I go every year with Kurt (Cei-U! on this board). He organizes a dinner for online and IRL friends on Saturday of the con weekend every year. I'm also tentatively planning to come up from Portland (my home) for the Jet City Con in Tacoma (Kurt's home) in early November. Hope to see you at either or both!

I'm 55 years old and I kinda stay away from these events and to me - it's a young person game and I find them very difficult to navigate and all. Sorry about the negative feedback ... but, I used to go to these back in 80's up to the late 1990's.

I'm 57 and Kurt's 56. You're missing some good times. Even if you don't go to the con, you're welcome at the dinner.

I'm your age, Doc, & I'm the same way. Haven't been to a con (except for a visit to the consuite of a now-defunct sf con down the road from my old newspaper in Little Rock about 15 years ago; I was reacquainting myself in part with people I'd met nearly two decades earlier at some of the first few installments of the con), really, since 1989, & even then I was wearing my newspaper reporter hat along with my fan beanie, so to speak.
In any event, were I in the Seattle area, I'd avoid the con itself like the plague but would certainly show up at the dinner Rob describes ... if only to make sure Cei-U! receves his daily minimum dose of torment.
