Whether because it was laugh-out-loud bad, a poor execution of a decent idea, a story with a big reveal that shattered everything you held dear, or just a plain old train-wreck that was painful to get through, what is the worst individual comic book story or issue you've ever read? For me, it was probably this: I genuinely enjoyed how bad Dell's Dracula superhero title was, but the Frankenstein title was a total mess beyond anything I could laugh at, as jarring in the execution as the character's physical appearance, and issue #3 was just the worst of the lot. A close second would be nearly any given issue of the Malibu Planet of the Apes series, which always felt like it was being written by a nine year old.

Hmm, probably ASM #208. Terrible villain, terrible story. Generally, I try to buy and collect that which I have heard is good so a lot of what I have is not that terrible. I mean, corny sure but not god awful. If it is that bad, I don't usually keep it. Hulk stuff would be a good example. I have a few out of my appreciation for the art but storywise, not my thing.
Civil War also has no place in my collection.

The Truth by Jimmy R. Smith and Nolan Woodard...it's unspeakably bad and the cd was worse.

Most definitely the Crossing...you have a line wide event written by fill in writers, AND you destroy one of your foundation characters? Not the best plan.
the big reveal of Green Goblin 2099 comes to mind, too. Editorial mandated plots are never good.

The Xorn arc in New Avengers #16-20. Everyone kept promising me that Bendis was eventually going to justify the godawfulness of Disassembled, I just had to stick it through until his genius was made manifest. Instead, he floated up the biggest turd I've ever read in the last arc before completely disassembling the team a second time without ever getting to any kind of point. Beyond worthless. Soul-drainingly incompetent on every possible level.

(Like a dollar.) (Because I like dinosaurs, THAT'S why.)

Excalibur #53. Because this flashback story by an American writer clearly unfamiliar with the character ignores and totally contradicts the continuity of Captain Britain in his Marvel UK produced series and makes him appear to be an utterly pathetic character with a long term drink problem and no sense of responsibility, which he had never been.

The WORST individual comic book series ... in collectively. I find this series of books so laughable and I find the writer Fabian Nicieza did not put his heart into this book and I was surprised to see that this book lasted 12 issues before it's finally got cancelled. So bad, that all the football/comic book fans that I know of read the book in the store a nd decided to not to buy it! So, two months later they all get thrown into the half off bins, then the dirt cheap bins (75 percent off the regular price) and soon that the isssues reach there they all get brought then. They were sold at 25-30 cents a piece that's includes sales tax. That's how bad it was!

The WORST individual comic book series ... in collectively. My friend owned the "Special Edition" reprint of #1. I used to tease him that, if he got it CGC graded, it would probably be the highest graded copy.

Civil War also has no place in my collection. Civil War was engaging , but it was dark and depressing.

Not one redeeming feature in this book. I can't believe it sold 1 million copies.

I'm gonna have to go with One More Day. If there's one story that sums up everything wrong with the industry, plus is poorly written, plus takes some time out to insult literally everyone who ever sought escapist entertainment, that would be it.
Or anything by Liefeld.

No matter what I might name now, I'm 99.9999% convinced that I'll find something worse as I become better acquainted with the more obscure Golden Age comics.
Cei-U! I summon the anticipation?!?

Or anything by Liefeld. I've never understood why OMD is so hated. On the other hand, I fully understand why Liefeld is...

I can't recall a particular issue, but the mid 90s New Titans run was consistently pretty bad. I recall issues with art by Bill Jaska and a story about Starfire being cringeworthy.
