Dear All MembersFor the record, I did not read any Comic Books from 1984 to 2002 because I was working an average of 65 hours of week at Boeing as a Computer Analyst and did not get back reading comics until the year 2004. Plus, the fact I did not care for the Bronze Age of Comics neither and I have no concept of the Bronze Age of Comics period. So, I'm combining both ages and with my very limited knowledge of the Bronze Age - I do know some characters in that time period because of certain associations of certain groups that I'm familiar with. I'm doing this series a little different and it's has 50 characters that I'm quite familiar with in both Silver and Bronze Age of Comics. For the record, I included both Green (Hal Jordan) and Flash (Barry Allen) because I stated in my other thread that the start of the Silver Age (Unofficially) is this book below: Because the Sixties brought us the new era of Comics Books - The Super Groups! ... Justice League of America, Fantastic Four, Doom Patrol, The X-Men, The Avengers, and Teen Titans and others later on.

For the Record, I talked to many close friends who reads Comics Books like I do and more and more that I've investigate it the word Retcon is a very confusing term and I don't want to get to technical about it and in my heart this term that I learned in the other thread bothers me so much that I do not want to go there anymore. Since, I'm combining both ages here and having said that I will be extra careful here and if I make a mistake - I want to have more fun on this thread because the word RETCON made me change my previous list by taking out 11 Characters out of my original line-up because I have 11/50 characters that shouldn't be on that list because I had to correct the mistakes that all of you tell me so. RETCON LINKBecause of that, that's why I can get confused by all this rambling around the word RETCON and that's why I have issues with it. So, I'm starting with Number 50 on Tuesday so that everyone here has a chance to read of what I'm going to do and I believe that this thread will be a better on and I learned my previous mistakes with the Golden Age of Comics thread. Have Fun Everyone!

You say you quit reading comics in 1984 and so have no concept of the Bronze Age, but the Bronze Age is basically the 1970s. I've been dealing in comics for some years and collecting for close to forty, and while the dates can be fluid, pretty much everybody I know considers the Bronze Age to last from 1970 to the early eighties. Anything after that is "modern". So Barry Allen, for instance, is a Silver Age character, but Firestorm is Bronze Age, while Booster Gold is modern.

I'm also a bit baffled as to what retcons have to do with the DC logo's.

Yeah, 1984 is pretty close to the end of the Bronze Age, though I'd probably go with 1986 as the last year of the Bronze Age, personally. I've seen 1983 or 1984 listed as the end of the Bronze Age in places, though. It starts around 1970, though I've seen some people even say as early as 1968. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to this. It should be fun.

Just before that '80s revolution in the US comics industry that really started with the "British Invasion" of DC.

1985 makes the most sense as the end of the Bronze Age. 1986 saw Crisis, Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns. It is a very clear demarcation.

There was already a definite tonal shift by that time that had started a few years earlier. In terms of American titles, which I suppose is all we're talking about here, Moore's Swamp Thing, Miller's Daredevil, quite a bit of other stuff like Bruce Jones's Ka-Zar. I personally consider the modern age to have started (and therefore, the Bronze Age ended) with the coming of the first crossover title-Marvel's original Secret Wars in 1984.

are we allowed to offer suggestions? or is this thread just for Mecha to list his 50? I will start with Number 50 and work my way up to Number 1 with a different approach this time and I think it would be easier for me this time! Starts tomorrow!

That's true now, but at the time we didn't use the term "Bronze Age". When I stopped buying comics in 1978 I would have said that it was still the Silver Age. I don't know when the term Bronze Age became common, but it wasn't during the Bronze Age.
