About that Vixen that you've shared with us and I'm quite familiar with and I find this version is not my cup of tea and therefore I've put this out of the running for the 50 characters in my line-up. It's a little too odd for me and therefore not my favorite Vixen outfit. Sorry, tingramretro! Yeah, the original Vixen costume appeared, what, twice? I'm glad they went with the design you chose.

... the 2nd Version with the two tone green with the Blonde Goatee/Van Dyke look ... And--à la Ma Hunkel and Forbush Man--could Ollie and Fandral the Dashing be long-lost brothers? Fandral debuted in the Tales of Asgard feature in Journey Into Mystery/Thor and at some point moved over into the main Thor feature; here's a Steranko drawing of him. I'm familiar with Fandral and I did not see this coming - good observations Farrar!

#34 Kid FlashAlter Ego - Wally West First AppearanceThe Flash #110 (December 1959) Golden Age and Silver Age as Kid Flash Crisis on Infinite Earths #12 (March 1986)Bronze Age - an exception as the Flash. Costume Features that I like the mostGood Use of Alternating and Incorporating Red and Yellow in his costume and they did a wonderful job on his mask as well. Simple and Clean My Favorite Story of Kid Flash with the help of Robin and Aqualad battling Mr. Twister! Great Splash Page of Kid FlashWith Titans Tower in the Background! Another Favorite Picture of Kid FlashCool Picture of Kid Flash, Golden Age Flash, and Silver Age FlashTo me, Kid Flash (an exception) belongs in the Golden Age of Comics and most of his adventures were in the Silver Age of Comics and his association with Teen Titans working with Speedy, Robin, Aqualad, and Wonder Girl and I have to give him great lee-way and having said that I wanted to make myself clear that he does belong in both (Golden, Silver) ages.

Very Cosmic and quite futuristic in mind Great Pictures of Captain Atom OK, this is getting silly, now. Captain Atom first appeared in Space Adventures #33 in 1960, published by Charlton, which makes him a Silver Age character, but he did not look like this. The version seen above, which debuted in 1987, is a DC Comics retcon, and 1987 is very definitely too late to be even Bronze Age.

I like both Wonder Girl costumes, but I prefer the second one, though mrjupiter makes some good points in favor of the original. I also like the Black Lightning and Red Tornado costumes, but I'm not too keen on the Vixen costume, and the Wildcat one is OK, but too much like the original for me.

#34 Kid Flash YES! Kid Flash instantly appealed to me in my earliest days as a superhero fan, and he is one of a very few heroes who still captivate me on that youthful level. Two years ago, I replaced my beloved MEGO Kid Flash (lost in childhood) with a beautiful MOC specimen, and last year I was delighted to pick up his first appearance in Flash #110.

Kid Flash has one of the best silver age costumes of all. Sleek, stylish, simple. Nothing crazy, nothing overly detailed, just sleek and functional.

Kid Flash has one of the best silver age costumes of all. Sleek, stylish, simple. Nothing crazy, nothing overly detailed, just sleek and functional. And sleek. I'm not sure if you mentioned that.
I agree 100% with your assessment. Kid Flash is the crossroads of simplicity, style, and functionality. A perfect design for a nearly perfect character. . .who's agile, clever, and. . .sleek.
Well, I'm sorry. He is.
I'm not sure if you mentioned it. . .

#37 Blue BeetleAlter Ego - Ted Kord First AppearanceThe new series was short-lived, and in the pages of Captain Atom #83 (cover-dated November 1966) through #86, Charlton introduced Ted Kord, a student of Dan Garrett's (note the changed spelling) who took on the role when Garrett died. Kord was an inventor hero, using a variety of gadgets. This Beetle received his own series in 1967, but the entire Charlton "Action Heroes" line of comic books ceased publication in 1968. With the rest of the Charlton line-up, he was sold to DC Comics in 1983 and appeared with several incarnations of the Justice League. In the meantime, he also resurfaced briefly at AC Comics in the early eighties.

Kid Flash, awesome costume! One of my favorites. Sleek, as you'd expect from a speedster, plus I am a sucker for red + yellow. It is obviously based on his mentor, the Flash, but doesn't look just like a carbon copy of the Flash's costume.

I like the bottom picture the best because it's from her appearance in Justice League Detroit of where Zatanna and Steel were her teammates and I liked the head-shots on the bottom right hand corner of this picture. It's shows the intensity of Vixen just perfectly! I'm sure you likely know. but those floating heads from the cover of Mari, are because these were the 1st 4 issues "introducing" the new team members for the Detroit League. each issue spotlighted the new teammate, and the 4 covers together made a poster, they used in Comic Shops at the time to advertise the new direction of the series (Aquaman leads!). here's all 4 issues together:
